It's not like I was in love, hell I had no reason to be. But here I sat on my bed listening to Ella Henderson sing about wanting to be someone's everything and more. Chresanto placing his lips on mine completely threw me off. I didn't want to keep his car anymore, but he refuse to take the keys once I finally pushed him away.
I hadn't been kissed in years and frankly that didn't bother me. I couldn't shake the lingering feeling of Chresanto's lips against mine though. So here I sat, Sunday morning, blushing from a kiss I put a stop to.
Real smooth Azalea.
My attention went to my ringing and I immediately answered, getting away from my thoughts.
"Hello?"
"Goodmorning." A deep voice spoke into the phone.
Why me God?
"What do you want Chresanto?" Feigning the irritation in my voice.
"Always excited to hear from me, I see." He laughs. "After this week you guys are out on Thanksgiving break right?"
"Why?"
"You first."
"Yes we are."
"Spend Thanksgiving with me. Nana can come too, my mom wants to meet her."
"I don't know Chres, Nana always takes a trip to Mexico." I sighed. "And I usually work."
"Why don't you go with Nana?" He asked curiously.
"Most of my family from my mother's side don't approve of my biracial genes. So instead of listening to the murmur disrespectful things in Spanish, I stay here."
"You don't have-"
"Wait." I said cutting him off. "Why are you inviting me over for thanksgiving dinner?"
"I like you Azalea. I thought I made that clear."
"You do realize I don't like you, right?"
"So you say, but when I kissed you last night you hesitated to push me away." He chuckled.
I felt my cheeks begin to heat up, I didn't need a mirror to know I was blushing. "I'm going to hang up."
"Stop, I'm joking. At least consider coming over." He quickly said.
"Maybe. Hey, do I need to pick you up for school?"
"Your decision. I wouldn't mind seeing a pretty girl in my car after being at that hellhole."
"Goodbye Chresanto."
-
"No practice today?" Chresanto said as he threw his book bag in the back with his friends."No sir. Wasn't feeling it, told my Coach I was feeling nauseous." I said pulling out of his school's parking lot.
"Explain to me again why she has your car?" One of Chresanto's friends said from the backseat.
"We made a bet, I loss, and she got the car." Chresanto shrugged.
