RECAP:
"Don't you trust me?" I say turning back around and facing him. I look up at him. He was about to talk when I didn't let him. "I mean, I trust you. There's no reason for me not to. Like, I tell you stuff about me, like stuff I haven't even told Sharnell! And she's my bestfriend!" Reuben grabs my hands."I do trust you babe."
"Then why were you looking at me like that!?" I exclaim.
"Like what?"
"Staring me down! Staring into my eyes to see if I was lying!"
"Babe, I'm sorry. I-"
"You're just like Trey!"
"Don't compare me to him."
"You're the same."
"No we're not. You know I'd never put my hands on you!"
"Trey beat me up cos he thought I was disrespecting him. You shot Marques cos he was disrespecting you! What if I did something and you wanna hurt me? I'm not ready for all that pain again Reuben, I'm not."I start crying. He pulls me into a hug.
"Shh. I'd never hurt you babe. I love you. And I'm so glad you trust me." I pull away and look him in his eyes.
"There's no reason for me not to trust you, is there?" I question.
"Nah, nah. Nothing at all."
My phone rings and I'm told my food is on the way.
"Okay bye."
"And that was?" Reuben says. I scoff.
"Can't I talk to someone on MY phone without you knowing who it was?"
"Was it a male?"
"Yes, but-"
"So you want to cheat yeah?"
"Oh my days you're ridiculous."
"I'm ridiculous?"
"Yes! They were just telling me my food was ready you idiot." I kissed my teeth.
"Oh. Sorry."
"Yeah I bet you are" I glare at him before walking away.
END OF RECAP:
I go outside and look doe the delivery guy. I stand outside waiting for a few minutes.
I hear footsteps coming down the stairs and laughter. It suddenly stops and I hear gasps.
"What is she wearing?" A female voice says in a disgusted tone.
"I don't know. What a sket, parading around in a bra and jogging bottoms. And look at them bruises on her back." replies a second female. I tense up at them talking about me.
"Shh." says the first girl.
"What? It's not like she can hear us." I roll my eyes. This girl is so stupid. I'm only 1 metre away from the stairs, of course I can hear you.
"She might."
"I don't care. If she has a problem she can turn around and say it to my face."
"Ah, leave her Prineesha. Them bruises look bad. And she's black as well. Something bad must have happened to her. And she's on crutches." I hear the sympathy in her voice.
"Well, that ain't my problem." says Prineesha.
"I feel bad for her." Prineesha kisses her teeth.
"If you feel so bad for her, why don't you just go jam with her then." Prineesha hisses. What's her problem?
"I just said I feel sorry for her, that's all. I didn't say I wanted to-"
