chapter 19

"alright sweetie I'll go get him right away" the nurse said as Katie looked around quickly.

the nurse ran out of the room and down the hall, looking for Carlisle. she finally saw him walking by the elevators.

"mr.cullen!" she yelled at Carlisle "it's Katie"

Carlisle head looked over instantly and he came running.

"is she okay?! is something wrong!" he started to freak out.

"no no! nothing's wrong.. she's awake!" the nurse smiled.

suddenly the biggest smile grew on Carlisle's face. he started sprinting down the hallway, towards Katie's hospital room.  the minute he walked through the doorway, he saw Katie laying there. her eyes darted across the room and she looked terrified.

"hey, hey, hey, calm down love. it's alright" he walked quickly across the room and placed his hand on her forehead.

she continued to breathe heavily , and she opened her mouth to speak.

"w-what's going on. Carlisle what's happening" she spit out.

"it alright my love. you had an accident remember? you've been in a coma for a while now and it looks like you're all better" he smiled at her.

he listened to her heartbeat slow down. a tiny smile appeared onto her face.

"Carlisle" she whispered

she didn't have to say no more. Carlisle leaned in and locked his lips with hers. if Katie's hands didn't have tubes inserted everywhere, they would've been intertwined in Carlisle's hair by now.

"I missed you so much Katie. I love you" Carlisle whispered to her when they pulled away from each other.

"well it seems like you're feeling better" dr. shepherd walked into the room.

she looked over at the doctor waking over towards Katie's bed. he reached down and gently grabbed her wrist. katies head jerked over towards Carlisle.

"that was a nasty fall you suffered from katie" dr shepherd said.

Katie just nodded her head.
the doctor checked her pulse and asked Katie a few questions and then finally left them be. 

"James"  she looked into Carlisle's golden eyes.

"he's gone. for good" he looked down, feeling a little upset.

"what's wrong?" she asked him.

he shook his head and looked away, taking a breath in. finally looking back towards Katie, he smiled a small smile.

"I'm going to go call your parents my love. they will be pleased to know you are awake" he leaned down and pecked her on the lips.

he gave her another soft smile before exiting the room, dialing a number to call Charlie and Renee. 

sorry for such a short chapter, I didn't have much to write and I promised a chapter tonight.
