I pulled into the cullens driveway. before I was able to open my car door, Carlisle did it for me. he wrapped his arms around me and picked me up bridal style. in an instant, we were in his living room.

"Carlisle what are we going to do?" Alice looked over at Carlisle and I.

he didn't answer her. he just stood there , staring at something in deep concentration. I looked over at him.

"Carlisle" i said trying to get his attention.

nothing.

"he gets like that whenever he's worried. . guys we need to get Katie out of here" Edward interrupted me.

Carlisle suddenly came out of his trance and stood up. he ran his fingers through his hair, slightly messing it up.

"you're right, we need to go somewhere so we can hunt James down." Carlisle turned to me.

Emmett stood up and walked over to us.

"Carlisle, you shouldn't go with Katie. James will expect katie to be with you so he'll come looking for you. if katies with you, it'll make everything harder" he replied.

Carlisle hesitated but then finally agreed.

"Rosalie, can you wear katies sweatshirt to trick James with her scent?" Edward grabbed my sweatshirt and handed it to Rosalie.

"why should I help her" Rosalie rolled her eyes and walked away with my sweatshirt in her hand.

at least she's helping.
I looked over at Carlisle who rolled his eyes as well and sighed.

"Katie can go with us. we'll take her to
Seattle with us" Jasper said, holding Alice's hand.

we all walked to the Cullen's garage and I got into the backseat of Alice and Jaspers car. how am I going to spend this long apart from Carlisle.

I rolled my window down revealing Carlisle on the other side. he looked really sad.

"I shouldn't have brought you to that baseball game. this is all my fault." he looked down.

"no Carlisle its not your fault. something was bound to happen. but I will be okay and you guys will track James down and we can go back to being inlove again" I reached out and put my hand on his cheek.

he looked up and leaned his head in. I leaned in as well and pressed my lips against his. we continued to kiss for what seemed like forever.

"okay guys, we need to leave now so we'll have to continue this AFTER James is gone" Alice interrupted us.

we pulled apart and a tear began to roll down my cheek.

"my love. don't cry." Carlisle looked at me.

before he could say anymore, jasper rolled the back window up because he could feel how I was feeling right now and I was most likely going to feel worse.

"w-what if he gets hurt ? James l-looked dangerous" I began to cry.

"Katie shh calm down. Carlisle loves you. he will never let anything happen to you." Alice turned around in her seat.
