A tear fell down Misaki's eye as she read the last chapter in the Diary. She closed it with caution as if she would break Kai's heart if she didn't.

The gang was all quite. No one had a word to say. Misaki held on to the book in her arms. They all looked down at the floor. Until one chosed to break the silence.

''Why are we all here sitting and moping around for?'' said Kamui and stood up. The others looked at him in surprise. ''Kai said himself that we shouldn't worry about him. So let's go..'' he continued. But everyone could hear the sadness in his voice. And if you peeked properly, you could even see tiny traces of tears. Even a person like Kamui who disklikes the brunette has actually feelings.

They all left the hospital with both guilt and sad faces.

Days turned into weeks. Weeks passed and the boy was still in medical koma. No one knew how long, not even the doctors. But the signs were there. Kai would be in coma for a while. According to the computer skills and the higher set Drs.

The guilt and sadness slowly fade away and finally a few feelings remained.

The spring and heat made its entrance. The birds came with their cheer chirping and the buds of the flowers knocked out. Yes, the spring was here. But not the brunette.

Love feelings appeared between friends and acquaintances. But not for the gang. Especially not for Misaki.

The spring slowly walked over to summer. School graduation came and went. Summer vacation arrived. The sea's cool breezes blows in your hair and the sun's warm rays shines on the pale faces of the cold winter chill. The water heats up and you see kids jump happily around in the water with their bath toys.

Volleyball was played on the scorching beach. Ice creams are sold in lots. Yes summer was here. But their hospitalized friend didn't experience this years summer.

The summer passed slowly, slowly to the wet autumn and school started again. Friends were divided. Some returned to school fo new efforts. Some went to colleges to study further to later begin their work lives. Yes life lived on. But somewhere in all this time, in all this stress you go through, there are still thoughts remained on the male.

Autumn rained off with the cold winds and the autumn turned into winter. The snow fell and laid itself like a thick blanket over the ground. Warm drinks like hot chocolate sold in millions. Christmas gifts were bought and divided between family and friends. Christmas presents was saved for their friend with care.

And finally came the early spring. The days when the snow is slowly melting away. The buds on the trees branches comes, all but one. And the water's thick ice melts. Yes, it was now March. The terrible month when everyone's life took another direction. This month a year ago, where Kai's fate changed.

And at this particular time, when the last bud on the tree's many branches broke out, the boy was awakened after a year of medical coma.

Tears flowed and hugs wandered around like an endless cycle.

But nobody knows what the world achieves. A small change can do great things. Even for a small bud that never seems to broke out, but who strikes out and become's the most beautiful of them all.

It's like they say; ''The one who waits for something good, never waits too long'' and at this moment, even such a metaphor could be true.

And it's at such a moment you know was true friendship is between those who waited for a year after someone they lost. When you see the one you hold dear who wakes up.

The newly awakened brunette was dazzled by the spring's cool light. But on this particular day, the light seemed stronger. As if the world waited for just this day. The hospital was left a few days after and no one looked back. A new time was waiting, but now with their friend at their side.

Birthdays were held and this time Kai got to experience this phenomenon with his friends. And all the terrible memories faded slowly away. And now they are just like a long scar nobody cares about. Because why should you think about the past? The future is still left with new ways and new memories to create.

As the last bud which is still the most beautiful of them all.
