[Syrena]

Pushing my laptop away for a second, I stared at the polished, black box in the corner of my desk. No matter how much I tried to distract myself with work and the news, my gaze continually drifted to it.

The box that could grant me unlimited power. The box I had dreamed of possessing my whole life. All of my plans for defeating Kassia and the Protectorate depended on that stupid little-

A soft knock interrupted my thoughts, and I sat up quickly, running my hands through my hair.

"Come in." I announced quietly.

Agent Livingston walked in, carrying her phone in her hand. Her once blonde hair was now a very dark brown.

"Supreme Leader Hutchinson," she walked towards my desk, placing her phone in her lap and turning it so that it faced me.

"Agent Livingston?" I asked. "What is that?"

"My phone ma'am."

"I know that," I rolled my eyes. "I'm asking about what's on it."

"Well as you remember, you assigned me a mission to go undercover into Fray Sector. When I was gathering data to prepare for it, my phone detected a heat signal deep in the forest." Agent Livingston planted the device in front of me, displaying a red dot in a large area. "However, when some agents arrived, no one was there. There wasn't even a heat producing device."

"You think someone is trying to contact us?" I asked, suddenly forgetting about the Ruby Box.

The agent nodded. "I was hoping to get your permission to send more agents to see who's trying to contact us."

"I have a better idea." I smirked. Fray Sector was really close to the forest, so if I find what's in the forest, I find Autumn. Then, I'll be able to activate the box. "I'll come...along with some of my personal guards...We'll have to get on this immediately."

"Yes ma'am." Ariana nodded.

Tonight, I'll finally get what I want. With the box in my hands, Veronica would never be able to win the Trials and become my successor.

[Scarlett]

"So how do you expect to get Layla to help us?" Nora asked, running her hand through her cropped hair.

"I don't know."I sighed. "I can't believe that she doesn't remember where she came from...or who I am."

"That's impossible." Nora groaned. "You guys have been best friends ever since you were little."

A flashing red light stopped me from what I was about to say.

That meant that someone was nearing my ship.

Rushing, I ran over to the control board. Pulling up the cameras, I held my breath.

Syrena Hutchinson was behind my ship.

'Nora!" I called out. Seconds later, Nora came rushing in, her black jacket flapping behind her.

"What's wrong?" she asked. I pointed to the camera, and her lips tightened.

"I'll get the team. You make sure that she doesn't mess with anything." Nora rushed off, and I sat in the pilot's chair. Syrena was standing there, with her guards, surrounding our ship.

If we didn't get out of here, we'd all be taken into custody. She never spared Kassians.

I watched as she started talking to her guards, and I tensed as they pulled out their guns.

Shaking, I pressed the speaker button.

"Attention everyone. We have an emergency, please report to the main quarters with your weapons. I repeat, please report to the main quarters with the weapons...And hurry, we haven't got much time." I signed off with a fearful sigh, as I grabbed my two handguns.

I put them in my side holster, and pulled my hair into a high ponytail.

Grabbing my phone, I started marching towards the front of the ship, alerts continuing to beep in my pocket.

Turning the corner, I grabbed another gun, and snuggled it by my backbone.

My heavy combat boots hit the metal floor, as I rushed.

Soon, I could hear loud voices, as I neared the sleeping quarters.

I pulled out my phone again, only to see that Syrena has moved, but some of her guards did.

I watched my team, as some had frantic and fearful looks in their faces.

They all quieted down when they saw me.

"Is it true?" Someone asked. "Is Syrena Hutchinson outside?" I ignored the question, and held my hands in fists.

"Listen up everyone!!" I yelled as everyone looked at me. "Its nice to see you all made it, but we're running out of time. Yes, Syrena is outside, and the only way to get rid of her is either capturing or killing her. I don't know how she got our location, but can't let her on this ship under any circumstances or Kassia is doomed. Got it?'

Everyone nodded.

Nora stood next to me. "Team 1, go to the left side of the ramp, and don't forget your guns and night vision goggles."

Team 1, a group of 10 people rushed off, and Nora started to speak again.

"Teams 2, and 3, you will be stationed outside, so please start running towards the secret entryway. Also, don't forget your goggles." Team 2 and 3 rushed off, leaving me, Nora, and five other people.

"The rest of you...come with me. You will be tasked with helping everyone else. Don't forget your goggles." I grabbed my own, as others soon followed, and I marched back to the front of the ship.

Nora rushed beside me. "When are you planning to switch the lights off?"

"Soon, I hope. Once the lights are off, that's our signal to go...So we gotta hurry." Soon, I returned back to the nose of the ship, and I checked the cameras.

The teams were in their positions, their night vision goggles planted on their heads.

I walked to the overall ship light switch.

"1...2...3." I switched all the lights off.

The teams all ran, and started shooting.

"We will be the most famous team of Protectorate agents there ever was. We will be the Kassians to take down Syrena! Let's go!!" I started running, as I heard gunshots everywhere.

"Bomb squad." I heard someone murmur as the ship trembled.

Pulling out my guns, I went out the back door, and landed in the soft grass.

A gunshot whizzed past my ear, and I shot a man, hidden in the bushes. He fell back, and I smirked.

"Split up, but be careful." I commanded. The team rushed forward, leaving me and Nora in the back.

"Nora, lets hurry and find the Supreme Leader," I shut the door I came out of, and Nora nodded.

Pulling out my phone once more, I checked all the cameras, searching for Syrena. I immediately found her with three guards, near the side of the ship.

"She's near the left side." I whispered to the team as another bullet whizzed past. Everyone nodded, and we ran towards the side, where Syrena's guards had their guns pointed at us.

She flashed a cruel grin and I cringed. "Did you really think a couple of junior Protectorate agents could do what the Kassian government has been trying unsuccessfully to do for years? Foolish Kassians. You better not make a sound!"

I bit my lip as the Supreme Leader's guards grew closer.
