Eden's POV
The average day at the care home started like usual. I may have only been here a few days but I have already fallen onto the strict daily routine; get up and dressed, make sure your room is tidy, get breakfast, teeth cleaned, then out of the door and to school. Most of this is pretty hard to do with a mammoth plaster cast on your foot though.
I broke my foot in the crash. It was a fairly bad break and I have to go back to the hospital today with my care worker, Clair to see if my foot is healing correctly.
I managed to lower myself slowly into the small car of Clair's whilst she started the ignition and soon enough we were slowly trundling down the road.
"Eden I wanted to have a little chat with you." Clair started as she stared at the long winding road. I felt sick a little in my stomach but this is only the second time being in a car after the accident.
"Yeah," I half whispered, trying not to show how scared I was of the long road to the hospital.
"I know you will probably say no and you can say no if you really don't want to but I think it would be great for yo-" I cut my fairly young care worker off.
"What?" I sighed, looking out of the car window. It was beginning to rain and the soft pattering of the water against the metal was comforting.
"Well there is a lovely family of four who want to adopt you. They are lovely people and I really think it would be better for you to go back into a normal family as soon as possible. Care home life can be hard to move on from after a while so you really should consider this. I can invite them around after we get back from the hospital if you like? They really want to have you as part of their family."
"Whatever." I mumbled under my breath. I wasn't ready to move on from my parents and I'm not ready for a new family yet but I know how long it can take to get adoptive parents so I might as well go for this despite the sick feeling I have about the whole situation.
"Great." Clair stated as we finally made it into the hospital.

An hour later we were out the hospital and on the way back 'home'. Turns out my leg is healing but it might not be healing in the correct position so I have to go back in a few weeks and if it isn't healing right I have to have an operation. Once we got home I hobbled up stairs to try and make my hair look a little nicer whilst Clair rang the family who were interested in adopting me.
I brushed my long blonde hair and and then tied it into a simple pony tail, adding a mint coloured bow to make it look a little fancier. Before I knew it the family was here and I was being called downstairs to meet them.
I walked into the unfamiliar room to find a couple who looked to be in their early thirties. The woman looked lovely, with dark hair and dark eyes and dressed in dark jeans and a striped jumper. The man looked cool and lovely too with blonde dyed hair spiked up at the front. He had a pair of red glasses over his face and was wearing a Mickey Mouse shirt and black skinny jeans. They looked nice and it was quite heart breaking to see this loving couple who wanted to adopt me, just a normal 10 year old orphan who's parents died only a few weeks ago.
"Eden, this is Tom and Giovanna!" Clair smiled whilst she took my crutches so I could sit down on one of the sofas opposite the couple.
"Hi, I'm Giovanna but you can call me Gi." The lady smiled at me, her smile made her look even more like a happy, lovely mum and it made me feel a little close to crying.
"And I'm Tom, you can call me...Tom." The man laughed. I laughed along with him and he just smiled through his mistake.
"Hi," I said simply, trying to not look at the floor from sheer anxiety and nerves. Their kindness reminded me of my parent so much. It was a bitter sweet moment.
"How are you? How's the leg?"Tom smiled at me.
"I'm fine. My leg might not be healing in the right position though though so I might have to have an operation if it's not right in a few weeks I have to get surgery and it pinned into place." I said quietly. I couldn't help but feel like this was ruining my chances of being adopted, maybe this was a bit too soon.
"So tell us about yourself Eden, what do you like and dislike?" Giovanna smiled at me as I looked upwards, trying not to look at the floor. They are trying so hard and I'm making this all awkward.
"I like Disney movies and Disney characters." I looked up as I spoke and I noticed both Tom and Giovanna smile widely as soon as I mentioned Disney. "I'm ten and I'm eleven next year. I don't like mushrooms but my favourite food is pasta and chicken. My favourite book is anything by David Walliams and my favourite film is anything Disney."
"What about music?" Tom asked smiling his face off. I wonder if I said anything he found funny?
"I like One Direction and Disney songs. Anything Disney to be honest. I really like frozen, toy story and monsters inc." I said, a little more confident in myself.
"Great!" Giovanna said excitedly. I looked at them with a confused expression.
"Our little boy is named Buzz, you know, like Buzz lightyear." Tom smiled at me. I giggled, unsure of what else to say. Buzz is a pretty cool name and the fact that these two amazing people have a little boy with that name makes me feel less good enough for this family.
"And we have another little boy too. Buddy, he's three months. Then Buzz is two." Gi added.
"And we have one more question to ask you." Tom said before looking at Giovanna.
"How would you like to be adopted by us. I know it can take a while to actually get to the point that you can actually come home with us but we are up for this journey if you are Eden." Giovanna said, smiling at me rapidly. Tom smiled alongside her.
These people seem nice enough and extremely parent like, they seem caring and kind. But what do they see in me.
"Yeah, I'd love to be adopted by you." I smiled. Both of them smiled back and it felt like the whole room lit up with the brightness radiating from their faces. This could work.
