Edens POV
"Welcome home!" Tom whisper screamed as we pulled up outside of the Fletcher household. Buddy and Buzz had fallen asleep during the car journey so Tom wasn't screaming so he didn't wake up the two youngest Fletchers.
Gi went and opened the door whilst Tom grabbed the boys from the car and I entered the house along with Gi. It didn't seem any different to what it had been the last time I was here. The entrance was still the same; covered in photos and cool art work stuff. It felt like home.
"Right so, shall we get your stuff into your room?" Gi asked giddily. In a way she feels less like a mum and more like a friend because of how giddy she can get.
I smiled and nodded and began to follow her up the stairs and into my room.
My room was still a wash of white, seen as though I hadn't yet decided how I wanted it to be. Walking into it though made me smile widely, this little room is mine for hopefully a long time to come.
"So, have you thought of how you want your room yet?" Gi asked, I shook my head lightly and we spent a short time just looking around the room before Tom entered the room carrying my small suitcase and the cardboard box.
"I've put Buddy down in his cot." He explained to Gi as he placed the suitcase on the floor and the box onto my bed. "Buzz woke up just as I tried to get him out the car, he ran into his room."
Slowly I began to open up my suitcase and Gi started to help hang up my clothes on hangers, to be honest it didn't take very long as I didn't have many clothes, and they were all mainly summer suited which isn't the best seeing as though we are starting to go into autumn.
"I think I know how we could decorate the room!" I said suddenly as Gi began to hang up my things in the large wardrobe that took up the majority of one of the walls. My little tiny line of clothes looked slightly ridiculous in it.
"So what are you thinking?"
"Well we could keep it white, then put splashes of one or two colours in." I said excitedly.
"What colours?" Gi suddenly seemed excited by my sudden thought.
"How about mint green and a light grey?" I suggested. Mint green is my favourite colour and grey goes lovely with it. I could suddenly just see my blank canvas of a room being covered in my favourite colour.
"That's a great idea!" Gi smiled, she was almost more excited then me at this idea. "A little bit later on we can look online and see what we can find if you like?"
"Sure" I smiled. I dug my hand into the cardboard box and brought out the photo frame containing the only photo I currently have of my parents and I. I slowly skimmed my fingers over the image of me smiling wildly at the camera whilst my mum and dad kissed me on either cheek, a pang of guilt spread through my body and I found myself having to hold back the tears.
"Is that your mum and dad?" Gi asked calmly. I was afraid that I would burst into tears if I spoke so I just gently nodded my head. "They would be so so proud of you, you know that don't you."
I nodded slightly again.
"Me and Tom, we aren't trying to replace them, no one will ever be able to do that. You can still call us both Tom and Gi, you don't have to call us mum and dad, they are your mum and dad and they always will be. Nothing has changed from before, it's just your living with us now."Gi continued whilst pulling me into a hug.
Once I was released from my Gi hug I hopped over to the side of my room and placed the photo frame on one of the shelves on the dressing table type thing which seemed to be a place for storage and books. The room fell silent and it was slightly unnerving, that was until Buzz came running into the room at least.
"Muma!" He stated happily whilst throwing his arms around Gi, he then started ranting about the drums or something, that boy has an obsession!
"Hey Buzz!" I smiled. He came over to where I was stood before looking down to where my leg was, he stared at my leg covered in thick red plaster.
"When is your leg going to be better?" He asked so innocently. I kinda wanted to just scoop him up and give him a hug but I knew that I couldn't do that.
"I don't know Buzz." I answered honestly, his face fell a little bit before he went over to Gi who was still sat on my bed. "It won't be red in a few days though." In all honesty I was telling my new little brother the truth, in a few days I was having surgery to make my leg the correct shape, he didn't need to know that though.
"It's like lightning McQueen!" He giggled.
--
Hours passed and Gi and I spent hours scouting the internet to find bits of colour that we could use in my room. We decided on some cool mint green bed covers, a mint green circular rug and then found some grey and mint green letters to spell out 'eden' , we also purchased some fairy lights before giving up on the room decor shopping and moved into playing with Buzz and Buddy.
Buzz began to play the drums and as soon as his drum stick hit the plastic covering the cylindrical surroundings Tom suddenly appeared with a guitar, strumming away at the strings whilst singing lightly, buzz seemed to tap along to the tune whilst Buddy danced on the floor.
"Meet Fletcher and Sons!" Gi laughed, she could only just be heard over the mass of drums being smashed by Buzz.
"We're the next up and coming band of 2016. We have our drummer, Back up dancer and I'm on guitar and vocals." Tom laughed, standing up from where he had perched (never thought I would use that word 😂) himself and walking over to buddy and scooping him up, causing him to laugh.
"You want a turn?" Tom asked, holding the guitar out slightly for me to grab whilst also keeping tight hold of Buddy who was now trying to wriggle out of his arms.
"But I don't know how to play." I replied. Tom still continued to hold out the guitar and his face turned to a smile.
