~Hinata's POV~
Himawari sighed in an awing way again. She was very distant after she had come home. I knew that she was with Inojin, but wasn't sure what had happened. I had tried to find out, but Himawari was just too distant.
"Mom, I'm going to bed." Boruto told me, yawning.
"Alright." I replied. "You better follow Himawari."
"Huh?" Himawari said, being pulled out of her trance. "Oh yeah. Goodnight mother."
The Uzumaki got out of her chair, then followed her brother upstairs. I sighed as I put the dried dishes into the cabinets. I heard the door open and close and turned to see Naruto walking into the dining room.
"Hello, Naruto-kun." I greeted my husband.
"Good evening Hinata." he said back, kissing the top of my head. "I'm really tired right now, so I'll be going to bed."
I nodded. "Yeah. I'll be there shortly."
Naruto kissed my head again, then went upstairs. I followed after turning all the lights off and locking the doors and windows. I changed into sleep attire, then clambered into the bed next to Naruto. I was lulled to sleep quickly by his soft snores.
~A Month Later, Himawari's POV~
I was woken up by Sarada and Inojin. Sarada had her cast removed yesterday, so she was able to train, but had to be careful.
"W-what are you guys doing here?" I asked, sitting up and rubbing my eyes.
"You know that conversation we had about a month ago about forgetting something?" Sarada asked.
I nodded as my response, confused as to why it was important. Sarada suddenly put her hand on my forehead and then a wave of memories came back into my mind.
I had met Uncle Neji, and two younger versions of each of my parents. My eyes widened as the whole time travel fiasco came back to me.
"Why is it important?" I asked, still recovering from shock.
Inojin wrapped his arms around me. "We're going to the future." he whispered.
"Jin is coming too?" I asked Sarada quietly.
She nodded and motioned for Inojin and I to follow her out the window. We complied and the three of us stealthily made our way to Hokage Tower. We had to run across the rooftops to avoid being detected.
Inojin and Sarada informed me on the plan. We were going to sneak into my dad's private library and take the scroll labeled 'travel'. Once we had it, we would sneak away from the village to use it to go into the future.
"Alright." Sarada said as we successfully made it into the Hokage's Library.
I started to have regrets. There was a strong feeling of guilt in the pit of my stomach.
As if reading my mind, Inojin put my hand in his, fingers entwining, and gently kissed the top of my head. I smiled and looked up at him.
"It'll be okay Hima-chan." he assured me. "I'll be here to protect you."
I felt protected by the Yamanaka and turned my attention towards Sarada, who was searching the drawers.
"Found it!" she whisper-exclaimed, holding up the white scroll.
The three of us cleaned up the slight mess, making sure everything was exactly where we found it, then went off.
We managed to sneak past the gate and made it to Shikadai's favorite cloud-watching spot.
"You two ready?" the Uchiha asked.
Both Inojin and I nodded. I had realized that we were still holding hands, but I didn't let go. I was ready to face the future, no matter what it had in store for us. We braced ourselves, then Sarada opened the scroll.
Then was the process of being pulled in and knocked out.
