"Have you ever thought of selling me one of your paintings?" Luke asked, watching as Ashton's paint brush made multiple blossoms appear on the canvas.
"I mean, I have sold paintings before," Ashton said shrugging his shoulders.
"But why not sell one to me?" Luke asked again, seeing Ashton slump at his words.
"Nothing I make is good enough for you," Ashton said.
"Bullshit," Luke said angrily, making Ashton turn around at the sound of the Knowing saying a cuss word.
Ashton turned around in his head and saw that Luke was sitting on the bed and watching him paint.
"It's true. You deserve something incredible. Not something mediocre that I paint," Ashton sighed, turning back around and looking at the painting that looked sloppy to him. Luke thought it was a masterpiece.
"My painting would be mediocre. That's beautiful," Luke said pointing to the canvas.
"Oh really? Why don't you try and paint then. It'll look amazing," Ashton said, making Luke stand up and walk to where he was sitting. Ashton patted his lap and Luke sat down softly, scared of hurting the smaller boy.
"On this canvas?" Luke asked nervously, turning around on Ashton's lap and seeing the boy nod his head.
Luke gulped nervously, picking up the paintbrush and bringing it up to the canvas nervously. He pressed harshly down onto the fabric, creating an ugly blotch. It was nothing like the strokes Ashton had made.
"Try again," Ashton said softly, "Be softer when pressing down on the canvas."
Luke followed Ashton's instruction and tried again. His flower looked nothing like the flower Ashton had drawn. It looked like on that's be painted by a preschooler and was hung up on the fridge to please the child. Ashton motioned for Luke to keep painting and he did. Ashton was in love with Luke's childlike flowers.
He loved the way the boy kept asking for his approval and he had to admit this was his most favorite painting he had ever done, well started. Luke switched the color of the paint he was using and drew a giant green flower in the middle of the light pinks.
"Creative," Ashton commented, making Luke blush lightly.
He continued painting but dipped his finger in the blue paint and turned around quickly, swiping it on Ashton's nose. Ashton did the same with the green paint and rubbed it on Luke's cheeks.
By the end of their paint war, Luke was panting on topof Ashton- all of their clothes covered in paint- and the feeling of love inboth of their hearts.
