Hi, my name is Laura Diamond. I'm a homicide detective at the New York Police Department. I'm a single mom to twin sons. My divorce with Jake Broderick wasn't the greatest, but I've been trying to make the best of it.
My life hasn't been the best lately. Captain Nancy Santiani was recently shot and killed at a press conference. At first, I thought I was the target, since I was standing right next to her. But it turns out that she was the target. It really hurts me right now. We were really great friends, and now all of those friend moments have disappeared forever.
I've also been a wreck about Jake. I feel like I am still in love with him. Wait, I know I am still in love with him. I don't know what to do. He's currently dating Jennifer Lambert and I'm afraid to tell him that I still love him. I'm afraid of what it might do to him and Jennifer. I don't want to hurt Jake's feelings.
