Two weeks after the trial, I decided to try and put my life back together. I had been through so much over the past 2 months that I hadn't been working as much at NYPD and I wasn't spending as much time with Lucy and my kids. So I decided to take them all to DisneyWorld.
I'm glad that I took them all down there. It was so much fun! On the first day, we went on all the rides, which included the spinning tea cups. I did throw up after that ride. On the next day, we explored all of the sets of Disney characters, including the villains. My kids even got to meet Goofy. And to conclude the trip, we gathered in front of Cinderella's castle and watched the fireworks. I couldn't have imagined a better time spent with my kids and Lucy.
When we got back to NYC, I had to admit, it was great to be back. I went back to work the next day. As soon as I walked into NYPD, everyone asked me how DisneyWorld was all at once.
"Seriously it was amazing. But honestly, I am glad to be back. I missed you guys."
"We missed you too, Laura," Max replies.
I then walked over to my desk and started to work on a case. While I was working, I smiled. I really needed that vacation, I thought. But its great to be back.
