Recap: Another one came through asking if anyone wanted snacks. I quickly declined and drifted slowly off to sleep after that.

*LENNOX’S POV*

The flight to Florida was pretty smooth. I had to sit by Isaiah the entire time though. He wouldn’t shut up and let me sleep which was irritating. We are now just waiting for our rental car at the airport. Suddenly, a silver Volkswagen Jetta showed up on a tow truck in the airport parking lot.

“I’m looking for the Fox family!” the truck driver yelled in hopes of getting out of the crowded lot.

“Right here!” mom said walking over towards the man. Dad told us to grab our bags and ushered us to the tow truck.

“I need to see some identification please.” The driver politely asked as he started to lower the Jetta back to the ground. Mom rummaged through her purse trying to find her wallet in the mess. I pulled my wallet out instead and showed the guy my license. “That’ll do.” He said after studying my license. Once the car was back on all four wheels, the man helped us put our luggage in the trunk. I looked behind us and saw a fairly attractive guy probably close to my age. He looked at me and then back to the older lady in front of him.

“Ok here is ten.” My dad said as he pulled a couple fives out of his wallet as a tip. This drew my attention back to my family.

“Thank you sir. Who is driving first?” he replied calmly.

“I will.” Answered my mom as she took the keys from the driver’s hand. It was a 30 minute drive to our beach house and I had to sit by Isaiah for the entire thing.

“Skittles no punch backs!” he wailed as he punched me in the shoulder.

“Oww!” I yelled at him. “What the hell was that for?” I punched him back.

“Language Lenn!” mom scolded.

“That was for me seeing a yellow car” Isaiah explained.

“Hey we’re her!” mom squealed excitedly as she pulled into a short driveway. The beach house was fairly large and very beautiful. The other houses in the area were smaller.

“Ok the owner said that there are four keys in the mail box for us.” Dad reminded. I hopped out of the car and raced to the mailbox. With one key in my hand, I dashed to the door, unlocked the door and looked around. Isaiah shortly followed me into the house.

“Wow” Isaiah stuttered. “This place is huge.” His jaw dropped. I took off through the house and found the bedrooms. The first one was nice but I still wanted to check the other before Isaiah could. I liked the second one better. The room was big and there was a queen sized bed in the middle and a flat screen tv on the wall. There was a set of doors that led out to a porch with a nice view of the ocean. The window next to the bed gave a view of the house next to us.

“I CALL THIS ROOM!” I screamed to the others. Isaiah ran into the room.

“Damn it! How come you get the good room?” he whined.

“Cause I’m older and I called it first” I teased him.

“Lenn! Isaiah! Come get your bags out of the trunk.” Dad hollered.

“Coming!” I yelled back. I ran back to the trunk and grabbed my three suitcases. I literally had to drag my suit cases to my room. Once I was back in my room, I opened up the window and glanced outside. I started hearing voices from the open window in the room at the house across from mine.

“Now just make yourself at home Matt.” an elderly woman’s voice said.

“I will thanks grandma.” a boy replied back. That was when I started creeping through his window. He looked out his window and waved at me. “Hey.” He said from across the yards.

“Hi.” I replied shyly.

“Looks like we are gonna be window buddies. How long are you staying for?” the boy asked.

“About two months. You?” I responded quickly.

“I’m staying her for the whole summer. Hey you’re the girl from the airport aren’t you?” he asked.

“That’s where I recognize you from.” I said as it suddenly dawned on me why he looked so familiar.

“I’m Matthew, but you can call me Matt. I’m 17 and you are?” he replied waiting for an answer.

“Lennox, but Lenn is fine. And I’m 16.” I told him.

“How about instead of talking through the window we go sit on the beach and talk there.” Matt suggested.

“Lennox!” my mom called from her room with dad upstairs.

“Gimme a second my mom is summoning me.” I told Matt.

“I’ll wait here.” He answered.

“Yeah mom!” I shouted back as I started for the stairs.

“Quit talking to the neighbor boy through the window.” She teased.

“And tell him that your dad has a gun.” Dad half joked.

“Great, I’m sure that’s just what he’ll want to hear form some random girl.” I muttered under my breath as I walked back to my Caribbean blue bedroom. I peeked through my window and noticed Matt sitting on the beach, watching the water. “I’m back.” I said as I approached him from my porch.

“Wow.” He stuttered.

“Crap do I have something on my face.” I blushed.

“No it’s just that you’re prettier face to face.” He blushed too.
