Emma tried to forget about it again and got ready for school. The school day was normal for her, and while leaving Nathaniel joined her.
"Hi Emma!" He said, unusually louder.
"Hey there, Nathaniel."
"Actually, you can call me Nate. I have to meet my aunt Amber who lives just across the street in which you do. Thought of joining you if you don't mind."
"Of course not! You can join me anytime. I walk home alone so I really long for some company."
"I know, loner!"
"Who are you calling a loner?"
"Your single-ass self, Miss Emma!"
At this point, Emma knew that Nate was going to be her best friend.
"I can grapple your weak ass and pin you to the ground, Mr. Nate."
"One more reason to not dream while you are awake, kids."
They both walked around talking about everything like the city, their families, their previous life, and also making fun of some other students of their class.
"So Nate, what kind of music do you listen to?"
"I really dig some classic pop. What about you? What do you prefer listening to?"
"I don't really care about the genre as long as the song is interesting. Do you have interest in poems? I write a few myself."
"Yeah, of course. I love poems. I didn't know you write. Will you let me read them?"
"Why not, I'll bring my book tomorrow. I just hope you like them."
Nate smiled. "Okay. Thanks for the company. I have to go to the other side of the road. See you tomorrow."
"See you."
