That night, excitement kept her awake for a while. It was the first time she was looking forward to go to school since she shifted.

A couple of hours before dawn, Emma sat up and got out of bed as if something had possessed her. She closed the door of her room, opened her drawer, and took out her poem-book. She opened the last page of the book and started scribbling something on it. For a few minutes, Emma wrote something on the page.
Then, quietly, she went to bed again.
A few hours later, the phone alarm rang and Emma woke up thinking she had a weird dream where she was scribbling something in her book. But when she rubbed her eyes and looked at her study table, she was more than shocked to see the book open on the table and a pen lying on top of it.
She got up immediately and started walking towards the table while constantly trying to figure out what was happening. She looked at the open page of the notebook and there was really something written on it.
She started reading. It was a poem. A poem which she couldn't quite understand. Nor was she able to understand the current situation of her mind. Was she ill? Or did she need some more sleep? How could she know if she was really awake? It was all very confusing, but she kept reading the poem.
