"John?!"
"Hey kiddo, what happened?"
"Here guys lets give them some space" Alexandra said pushing Dylan & Scott out.
"Fighting fires I guess, hehe."
"You gotta be careful! You could've gotten seriously injured"
"I know, its just, I actually used my powers, for something useful! I used it to help other people!"
"Just promise me you'll be more careful"
"I will, you can count on me John" I smiled. "Hey John, what happened to you and Becky? You guys getting married?" I smirked.
"As a matter of fact, we are indeed." He said with the biggest smile.
"JOHN! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU! YAY!!!" I leaned over giving him the biggest hug! I missed him so much.
"Thanks kid, you know, its not the same without you at the orphanage."
"John, I miss you too, please don't tell me I have to go back, I'm actually getting the chance to actually explore the place, meet new people! Its so exciting!"
"I know, I'm happy for you, don't worry I'm not making you go back, Wendy is furious right now not knowing where you are, I'm keeping my lips sealed, not telling her where you are."
"Thanks John.... How are we gonna keep in touch?"
"Email."
"How can I email if I don't have a phone or anything?"
"I know for a fact you can do anything you put your mind to" John smiled.
All of a sudden John's phone rang,
"Oh man, I gotta run, work starts at 9:00. I miss you kid, you made work so much more enjoyable, keep in touch with me okay?" John handed me a little slip of paper with his contact info. "If you need anything, you know where to reach me."
I hugged John one last time, I almost shed a tear, I didn't realize how much of a father figure he was in my life.
"Caitlin."
"Yes John?"
"Please. Be careful. I don't want you getting hurt again. Be aware of your surroundings, be careful with who you trust, who you hang out with, and always be on the lookout for Wendy... she's CRAAAAZZZZZYYYY!!!"
I laughed at the last part, but everything before that made me a little tense on the inside.
"Thank you John, for everything."
John smiled, and left.
