--------------------- 4 WEEKS LATER--------------------
I walked into school Monday morning having some sort of hope that I'd make it out okay at the end of the day.
Un-tortured by Megan.
Or not humiliated at the very least.
1st period was normal,
until a very rude someone came into my path, and practically distracted me from my focus!
"Hey there!" Megan said in a scary sweet voice.
"Um. Hi"
"So, over the past what? - several weeks, I've been thinking, that and have been wanting to for some time...... apologize to you-" she sat down and put her books by her side.
"I am just so so sorry, I don't usually treat people this way, I have just been feeling so guilty, you see- my parents are getting a divorce, and I guess it just kinda made me act different, I guess some sort of part of my anxiety and depression? I just-"
I felt so bad for her, I had no clue what she was going through,
all the thoughts I had about Megan, wishing she was at another school, or wishing she was someone different, made me regret all the things I thought badly about her in my mind.
I smiled
"It's okay, I promise, I'm so sorry you had to go through that, that's awful"
"It is" I saw her get a tear in her eye
I didn't know what to do, I didn't know if I should lean in for a hug or??
"So this weekend me and my friends were gonna have a sleepover at my house, ya know- they were doing this all for me since I'm going through this, and I was wondering if you'd like to join?"
I wanted to do everything I could to lift her spirits.
"Of course, I'll come"
"Oh my goodness, you don't know how much this means to me!" she leaned over to hug me
"No problem at all"
just then the bell rang,
"Well I'll text you the details okay? Here's my number so just text me and I'll inform you"
"Okay! Great! See ya!"
She left with the biggest smile on her face.
I felt so bad for her.
Poor Megan :(
But wait....
How exactly would I tell the gang I was going to a sleepover at Megan's house after these unending weeks of humiliation and torture?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Later that night I got a text from Megan right before dinner,
*Hey girl! Sleepover at my house on Buena Vista Ave. 32492 Hollywood Heights Neighborhood at 7 PM FRIDAY- 10 AM SATURDAY*
*Cool- see you there!*
I wasn't sure whether to lie or just avoid the whole thing anyway, perhaps sneaking out?
Nah. I don't wanna take a chance of getting caught, then being asked numerous questions.
I pulled Alexa into a separate room while she was laying out plates and cups along the table
"Hey Dylan, finish the job for me will ya?"
Dylan nodded his head and continued doing his job as we made our way into the gym room.
"So what's up?"
"Okay, I need to tell you something, but you absolutely cannot tell anyone!"
"OMG! ANOTHER POWER?"
"I wish, haha, no but something more I guess.... serious."
"What?"
I began to explain to her everything Megan told me in Art class this morning
"So, after that she invited me to a sleepover at her house."
"I don't know, are you sure you want to go?"
"Not really, but I feel bad for her."
"Well I guess, if you're just trying to cheer her up that should be okay" Alexa smiled
"So what are we gonna do when I leave Friday at 7?"
"Easy, I'll tell Dylan your going over to..."
"How about Samantha's house?"
"Perfect! She's one of your friends, so I'll say Samantha invited you over, then he will never know."
"Sounds like a plan! Thanks Alexa, I just don't want things to be weird or even him thinking I'm stupid for going over there after all she's done."
"No he won't, if he finds out we'll just explain what happened to her and why she acted so vicious."
"Thanks so much" I leaned over to hug Alexa.
"Anytime mi amiga! Let's go eat some food!!!"
We ran over as fast as we could to the table, with steaming hot burritos, tortillas and tacos.
