The room looked empty.
No Customers.
No Employees.
Nothing.
I looked around trying to find an area to hide or least be able to find a spot to turn invisible in.
Just then I heard a teenage guy sounding voice in the back of the store.
"Hello? We're about to close, but I'd be happy to help you find an item"
I heard his footsteps get closer and closer to the front.
I didn't know what to do.
WHAT could I do?
Just then he came around from the corner.
I looked him in the eyes not really paying attention to his appearance and said
"I'm running away from some bad people, can I please hide in your store somewhere? I'm really scared their going to find me, and if I don't-"
I could see his sympathy for me in his eyes.
"Yeah, you can-"
Just then I heard the police car pull up infront of the store.
I gasped and without thinking about me exposing my magic,
I turned invisible.
Shock was the only expression I could read off of his face,
but then it turned into a smile.
I continued to stay invisible saying
"Please, don't tell ANYONE I'm here. I promise I'll be out of your way as soon as their gone."
*KNOCK* *KNOCK*
I ran towards a dark corner and hid.
He slowly walked up the door and answered it in a calmly manner.
"Hello, how may I help you"
"Good Afternoon Sir, we're looking for a girl who looks like this"
He grabbed the paper from the police officer and looked at it for a good minute.
Please don't say anything, please, please, please.
I tried so hard to refrain myself from saying anything aloud that would put me in harms way.
"No, haven't seen anyone who looks like her"
"May we take a look inside your shop sir"
OH GOSH OH NO PLEASE NO!
"Go Ahead, I'm the last one here"
WHY?! NO!
I sat there in the dark corner as quietly as I could,
not even breathing.
The guy who worked at the shop came to where I was sitting and stood in front of me,
his back towards me pretending I wasn't there.
Whew.
"You can check upstairs in our stock room but I promise you, I haven't seen anyone here"
Just then Wendy came in with the police.
The police went upstairs, except Wendy.
She looked around, opened anything that could be a potential hiding spot.
"Hmm.. something's not right"
I froze, holding in my breath even longer.
Wendy began to walk towards the corner I was in not knowing I was there.
