“How do I look?”

I turned around, after hearing the voice that had been waking me up every morning for years; until he’d suddenly – it had seemed just like that, but was many years ago – stopped.

My breath caught in my throat and I smiled, my eyes beginning to water.

“You look handsome.”

“Brilliant.” He replied, straightening out his tux. “It was the look I was going for.”

I stepped closer to him in swift, fast movements.

He looked up at me, his soft, shiny hair combed over to one side. I smiled as his eyes met mine and my heart skipped a beat. I’m sure the boy standing in-front of me could hear it.

It was always the same reaction whenever I looked into his eyes.

“Why are you looking at me like that for?” he asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

“Like what?”

“I don’t know… you were just looking at me weirdly.”

“I was looking at your eyes?”

“My eyes? Why?”

I sighed, and ran a hand through my blonde hair. “You have your father’s eyes.”

“I know. You say this practically every time you see me.”

I laughed lightly and looking into his eyes again. They were perfect. His eyes were the exact same shade of emerald as Sebastian’s. The thought of Sebastian made my chest constricted slightly but I ignored it as I straightened out William’s tie – even though it was perfect.

“I know I look like my father, but I need to go, like, soon.” William said, patting my hand away.

“You have your mother’s ears, actually, so you don’t look all like your father.”

“You say that all the time too. I’m leaving.”

“Bu—”

“Let him go, Emily.”

A gasp left my lips as I quickly turned around to face a beautifully handsome man with sapphire eyes. For a moment I forgot the world as I looked into his eyes but then a low chuckled left his perfectly soft lips and I snapped out of my reverie.

“Bu—”

“Your mother is waiting for you, William.”

“Cheers uncle.”

Vincent didn’t reply. His eyes stayed fixed upon mine and a gentle smile was on his face.

“You’re being nice?” I said suspiciously. “What’s wrong?”

“What do you mean?”

“You usually call him a brat—”

“He is—”

“You’re not answering the question.” I replied. “Why are you being nice?”

“Why not?”

I didn’t reply, I knew I couldn’t win. I wondered why he was being nice but then as I was about to turn away, I noticed that he wasn’t wearing his normal wardrobe.

I approvingly looked him up and down and when my eyes met his, his gorgeous sapphire ones were staring back at me amusingly, his perfectly, naturally shaped eyebrows were raised.
