ayyy
why is it just mental illnesses that r represented when it comes to disabilities ?
do y'all know that there is more than just depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and all other romanticised illnesses.
there's Down syndrome, there's Blount disease (a disease of the legs which I had once), there's autism and THERES SO MANY MORE
ITS NOT JUST ILLNESSES OF THE BRAIN!
being ableist isn't only using words like "mad" "crazy" "insane" "retarded" and all that
it's also using words like "lame"
srsly disabled people without mental illnesses NEED to be represented more when speaking about disabilities
I'm not trying to water down mental illnesses but I'm trying to emphasize that the other kinds of disabilities are still as serious!!
don't make ur character have """""anxiety""""" when they could have something more awakening like Down syndrome, just bc u think it's sexy. or it gives ur character a "dark edge".
ik it may b a little more difficult to have a character w that type of disability but ppl with disabilities outside the brain r still normal ppl ya know!
they're regular degular schmegular ppl so they NEED to see themselves represented in books
!!!!!
I wanna start like a #project______ to raise awareness for things like the ones mentioned above
PLS TELL ME IF I SHOULD DO IT OR NOT
PLEASE ACC GIVE FEEDBACK THIS TIME YALL NEVER give FEEDBACK
