Month - How to Make fake / not edible fortune cookies
These fake fortune cookies are great to make as party favors.
What you'll need?
You wont need a lot of things. That's why these take seconds to make.
- One sheet of A4 white paper ( to make the fortunes)
- One sheet of patterned / wrapping paper ( to make the fake cookies )
- One pair of scissors ( to cut out the shapes we need )
- Anything with the shape of a circle ( to trace the shape of what we are going to cut )
- Of course, Glue ( to stick things )
How do we do it?
The method isn't that simple, so you'll need to be patient and listen to the instructions.
1. Gather your paper. Use something circular , and it should be bigger than a coin! It should at least be bigger than 3 inches in diameter.(depending on how big you want your cookies to turn out) to trace circles on the back of your paper. Then, cut out the circles.
2. Next, we need to make the fortunes that go in the fake cookie. There are two ways to do it. Print out all the fortunes, and then cut them into strips. The second way, is to write the fortunes with a pen / pencil onto the A4 paper and then cut them into strips. I prefer the first way, but its your choice.
3. Make a crease in the center of your patterned circles, making sure the pattern is facing downwards.
4. On one of the sides of the circle, glue the edges.
5. Now, place one of your fortune in the center of your circle. Now fold the circle in half, with the fortune in half. Put a laundry pin / clip on top, and wait an hour, so the glue can dry.
6. After one hour , take off the laundry pin / clip. Now you will have a semi circle, with a crease on the bottom, and a fortune inside.
7. Press down on the crease at the bottom of the fake cookie to puff it up. Now bend the crease until it shapes into a fortune cookie. You will see two holes at each corner of the semi circle. This is where you can take the fortune out.
8. Your fake fortune cookie is done. You can make as much as you want and make them as gifts, party favors, secret messages, or more!
