*Chapter 19 whoop whopp*

I woke up slowly, groaning as the pain in my side started to flood back in. I whimpered softly snuggling back into my pillow and squeezing it tight.

“Are you alright, Hayden?” my pillow asked.

I groaned and tried to bury deeper into my pillow.

“No matter how hard you try I don’t think you’re going to get any deeper into my chest,” the voice joked softly.

I groaned again in confusion before stiffening like a board and ever so slowly pushed my head and chest off my “pillow.”

“Good morning, Hayden,” Nero greeted when we made eye contacted.

I groaned once more, pushing my hair out of my eyes and rubbing them hard, before opening them again.

“Nope, you’re still here,” I mumbled quietly.

“You are surprisingly heavy-could barely breathe with you on top of me,” he joked.

“You don’t breathe,” I replied, slowly pushing up until I was sitting properly.

“You’re still heavy,” he shrugged sitting up as well. “How you doing today?” he asked once we were situated.

“As good as a girl who just was stabbed and had a nervous breakdown can be doing,” I answered.

“So mild pain and panic?” he questioned lightly.

“Pretty much,” I nodded.

“Okay, well, better than expected,” he smiled. “Why don’t I get you some pain pills and something to drink,” he suggested, getting off the bed.

“Sounds good,” I agreed moving to get off the bed as well.

“Whoa, where do you think you’re going?” he questioned as he placed his hands on me to stop me from moving.

“There’s this thing humans do when they wake up that I have to do,” I said vaguely.

“Which is?”

“Pee, Nero! I have to take a piss,” I rolled my eyes. “Now do I have your permission to go or am I going to have to use my bed as a toilet?” I questioned.

He made a deep thinking face.

“Oh, for the love of coffee Nero, I’m going to the bathroom not running a marathon! Let me up!” I exclaimed shoving his hands off my shoulders.

“I just don’t want you to pull your stitches or anything,” he mumbled offering me his hand and pulling me to the standing position.

“Going pee… you think I’m going to pull my stitches peeing?” I questioned with a brow raised. “Are you kidding me?”

“Well, I mean...” he started.

“Lead me to the freaking bathroom, Nero,” I demanded.

“Fine,” he mumbled, looping his arm a crossed my back and practically carrying me to the bathroom.

I just sighed and rolled my eyes.

He stopped inside my bathroom and just looked at me.

“GO!” I yelled pointing out of the room. “You’ll be the first to know if something goes wrong, I promise,” I sighed, dropping my arm. “Just please let me have a couple human moments to myself,” I begged.

“I’ll make you a smoothie and have your pills ready,” he nodded after a moment.

“You do that,” I mumbled as he walked out of the bathroom and closed the door.
