I groaned, as my alarm clock sounded it was time to wake up. My body now hated the fact I was up so late last night. Mind 1 Body 0.

Nearly breaking the blasted devise when I turned it off, I rolled out of bed and walked over to my closet for clothes. Today consisted of Paramore short shorts, a black and white muscle shirt and my lace up ballet flats.

After getting dressed I made myself a bowl of cereal and a cup of orange juice. After I finished my meal I walked out of my room and to Karma’s-suddenly feeling awkward as I remembered the noises coming out of here last night. Hesitantly I raised my hand and knocked quickly three times, then three times slowly. After a minute, Karma opened the door with a large smile on her face.

“Morning Hay,” she said pulling her door closed as she stepped out.

“Good morning, Karma,” I smiled, “How was your night? Do anything interesting?” I asked.

“Um.. No. not really, it was a, just an average night for me…” she blushed, looking away. “And yourself?”

“Oh, after I rested, I explored the building, lots of funny noises can be heard walking through the halls,” I said casually. “Oh and I found out Nero sleeps without a shirt on.”

“Oh, that’s cool. I’ve wanted to explo- wait, black haired girl say what?” she said stopping us as we walked.

“Oh, well, as I was exploring I found Nero’s room where I continued to argue with myself until I heard him opening his door. So I ran away, but when I got back to my room there was a note from him, telling me to visit his room anytime and that he sleeps topless,” I explained, starting to walk again.

“That... is just hilarious! And you’re actually leaving your room today? You, my friend, are brave!” she laughed, slapping her thigh as she did so.

“Yup, the brave little toaster, that would be me,” I said, rolling my eyes at my best friend.

Maybe I should have stayed in my room today…

“God, I probably wouldn’t be able to face him today. I mean do you remember the 5th grade when I walked in on Jeremy using the bathroom! I didn’t go to school for a week!” she exclaimed. “God, was I embarrassed!”

“Um… Karma, it’s not as if I just walked into his room and saw him laying there topless, or something,” I said, shifting as I walked.

“Yeah, but still, it’s pretty embarrassing to be caught talking to yourself outside someone’s bedroom!” she exclaimed.

“Ha-ha, yeah...”

“Man, I thought you broke that habit a long time ago,” she commented, turning towards the gym.

“I didn’t-I mean I did… it just kicked it again or something...” I mumbled.

She shrugged, pushing open the gym doors.

Stopped talking to me? Please you’ve talked to me since you were 9 years old…

Zip it…

I’m just saying… I mean I’m sure tons of people talk to themselves.

Yeah, crazy people-people who end up massacring hundreds of people, then blaming the “voices” in their head.

Oh, come now, we would never become a homicidal maniac! We are very collected.

Righttttt….

“Morning Hayden, Karma!” Gemma and Dakota greeted as we walking through the gym.

“Morning,” I smiled.
