You all know this song right? My mom looked at me crazy when I told her she should know it hahaha, sorry continue!
I was up before everyone else, only I didn't get up. The honest truth was, I was dreading our little reunion. Any moment now they would be coming up here to make me socialize. Gross.
When the clock on my phone read 11:30, I tossed the covers off of myself. I wasn't getting anywhere hiding in bed. Not bothering to change out of the shorts and shirt I fell asleep in, I trudged downstairs. The sound of a voice I didn't recognize caused me to slow my pace into the kitchen.
Everyone was there. Sarah, my dad and mom and a guy?...
I, unfortunately, stepped on another squeaky board.
Seriously? I've never stepped on these certain floorboards before!
Conversation ceased. Shit.
All four gazes snapped onto me, including that of the unknown male.
I pulled on the ends of my shorts subconsciously, now fully aware of my messy hair and short shorts.
My mother was the first to let out an exhausted sigh. She looked to the guy who was seated at one of the stools to my right, "I'm sorry, Aaron, for my daughter." She gave me a look of slight disgust."Celia, would you put on some clothes? And maybe brush your hair?"
Heat flooded my face. Trying to contain the anger burning at my very being, I took a deep breath and stepped back. A sarcastic smile made its way onto my face as I bowed to her.
The smile only grew more smug at the outraged look on her face.
"As you wish, your highness." I snickered before turning away sharply and jogging back up the stairs.
It was only when I reached my room that I relaxed.
Did I just say that? Do that?
Holy hell.
A self satisfied laugh bubbled up within me. I clamped a hand over my mouth in an effort to contain the burst of giggles.
I tossed on a pair of jeans and braided my hair, not making an effort to impress anyone.
Checking for any new messages while I made my way back downstairs, I wondered if Axel was already starting to rub off on me. Instead of waiting to make my presence known, I flounced back into the kitchen, heading straight for the fridge.
The piercing sound of silence filled the air, as I hopped onto the edge of the counter.
I could see the fire burning in my mother's eyes. She was going to snap.
Sarah coughed a little.
"Celia, I want you to meet Aaron, my boyfriend." She introduced him with a smile on her lips.
At the mention of Aaron, my mother perked back up. He stood stiffly and leaned to shake my hand firmly.
No wonder she liked him.
The dude was like a brick wall. Except with less emotion. If my mom approved, chances are he has the personality of a wet napkin.
Silence fell again.
I quietly sipped at the glass of grape juice I had poured only seconds before Aarons introduction.
"Aaron and Sarah will be here for a week, I expect you to be on your best behavior Celia."
I nodded, not willing to give her an actual answer.
"We'll also be talking later." She said with also edge to her voice.
