One thing, and one thing only had been occupying Harry Potter's thoughts lately.
It wasn't spells, it wasn't school, it wasn't even the upcoming exams— Harry couldn't push Draco Malfoy out of his mind.
Sure, he had a few study sessions with Hermione, a quidditch practice or two, and made regular trips across the grounds to visit Hagrid, but no matter what he did, said, or thought, his mind always drifted back to the pale, grey-eyed boy; the memories of his warm skin against his underneath the thick blankets of Harry's bed haunting his daydreams.
He had became a little used to it now, at least. Over the past weeks, Harry had found himself accustomed to subconsciously hoping he'd run in to Draco in the halls, or have an excuse to talk to him. He still wasn't very used to the queasy thrill he felt in his stomach when he did.
The great hall was alive with the anticipation of students as Proffesor McGonagall announced the first students visit to Hogsmeade of the school year. Harry didn't think much of it, he figured Ron and Hermione would want to go together, but he figured he could use a quiet weekend to relax, and maybe even catch up on his homework.
"Are you gonna go to Hogsmeade this weekend, Harry?" Hermione asked, snapping Harry out of his daze.
"Nah..." Harry said, shaking his head. "I think I'd rather just sleep."
Hermione nodded. "Me neither."
"Really?" Harry asked. "I figured you and Ron would wanna go together."
Hermione let out a noise almost like a scoff. "I have far too many exams to study for to go shimmying off to Hogsmeade for a day. No thanks. Wasted studying time."
"Besides," Hermione began again, turning to Ron, "I don't think Ron rather cares to go."
"Eh." Ron said with an indifferent shrug, continuing to feast on his tall stack of waffles.
"You'd do well to do some studying up yourself, Harry, not to mention how behind you are on homework." Hermione added.
"I guess that's true." Harry mumbled reluctantly.
To be honest, Harry expected the two to go to Hogsmeade, and for Harry to spend the weekend just doing nothing, but if Hermione was sticking around then he knew he might not be able to just be lazy all weekend. Of course, she had his best interests in mind as usual, but if there was anything Harry's exhausted mind needed at the moment, it was some peace and quiet.

The Gryffindor common room was crowded but cozy that evening, the broad, roaring fireplace casting a comfortable glow over the Gryffindors, who were relaxing at the end of a long week of OWLS preparation classes.
Harry was sitting near the fireplace on a cushion on the floor, leaning against the wide, crimson armchair that Ron was sitting in.
Hermione, perched on the arm of the plush chair Ron was sprawled across, was poring over a large, thick charms textbook and practicing charms in the air.
As Hermione mumbled an incantation, a stream of golden sparks shot out of the end of her wand and hit Ron square in the side of the head.
"OUCH!" Ron bellowed, as the place of impact began to smoke slightly. A patch of his red hair was looking rather singed. "Blimey, Hermione, would you watch where you aim those bloody spells!?"
But Hermione was paying little attention.
"Ron," she said a little absentmindedly, eyes still focused on her book. "We should go to Hogsmeade this weekend."
"Really?" Ron said, gingerly rubbing at his head. "I thought you needed to study this weekend?"
"Well, I really should... But I think we could use a little fun... What with exams being next week and all. We've done almost nonstop studying over the past few weeks."
Ron shrugged. "Sounds good to me."
Harry couldn't help but feel just a little relieved. He could have at least a day to do nothing, now that his friends would be preoccupied at Hogsmeade.
"Harry, why don't you come with us?" Hermione asked eagerly.
"I'll pass on this one." Harry responded with a yawn. "I really just need to sleep all weekend."
With that, Harry said goodnight to Ron and Hermione and marched up the stairs into the dark dormitory, where he fell into bed and into a forgiving sleep.
