Rebecca was busy in the throne room sending food, healers, taking visits from people who had lost everything and were asking for help, as well as meeting with kings from the closer kingdoms and the duke and duchesses running the towns asking what they can do to help, as well as asking what she was doing to protect their towns.
"Oh they are driving me nuts! I need to budget for food and pay for the soldiers, I need to buy building material, I need a place to keep the refugees safe until the villages are rebuilt, and Kisel is the closest wharf city and its half burned down! We'd need to caravan it all the way from Tinis Makil and I need to find money for that to! As well as find a way to send a few extra men to the cities and towns to help protect them from raids. Oh it's hurting my head how is mom able to deal with this?" Rebecca thoughts exasperated.
"Well then go get someone to help you. Preferably someone with math skills." The voice in her head said.
"Felix! He can help me. I also need to know treasury so I need to call the Royal treasurer so I can see what's what."
"Now you're thinking." The voice replied satisfied.

Rebecca called the Royal treasurer and got the income and the treasury stores.
Then she got her information sorted and looked at a budget and found herself short.
"Felix we might need to raise taxes to make this work..." Rebecca said regretfully.
"Hmm...we might need to, or ask the nobles to cut back on staff, but that would put people out of work." Felix replied.
"Let's not do that if we can help it...ok Felix help me with the figures what's the minimum we need to raise taxes to make it?"
They made quick work and got results.
"Ok I got we need to raise a single towns taxes by five percent to make it." Rebecca said.
"I got the same, so how are we going to handle this?" Felix asked.
"If we raise taxes 1% per town we'd make over what we need, save some money for emergencies and not make everything over expensive and hard on the people, but I'm not sure if the nobility will agree to it considering the extra money they need for the soldiers, and to rebuild what needs rebuilding." Rebecca said dubiously.
"Well we got to try, it's the best way without making people lose jobs or over taxing one town." Felix replied.
"Guess I had better set up a meeting with them." Rebecca said in a tone that made it obvious she wasn't looking forward to it.
"Hey you'll be fine." Felix reassured her.
"I hope so....."
Felix kissed her and said, "you'll do great. Now go get it set up your highness." He smirked.
"Are you ordering your princess?" She accused playfully
"Maybe...." He replied coyly
"Well that's not very appropriate is it?" She leaned over and kissed him.
"And neither was that" he mockingly chided.
"I'm the princess I can do what I want" she said in a jokingly child like way.
Felix smiled and hugged her goodbye, and promptly left her to make preparations.
"Ok let's do this." Rebecca thought as she started to write letters.
