Early that morning, after saying goodbye to the royal family, Majikku got on her horse and left for Islath. It was at least a three day ride to the border of Islath, she had a long way to go,and hopefully enough time to be get there, and to Lion, and back before something really bad happened.
She rode long and hard the past couple of days and reached the border where she was met with a patrol. It seemed drier then usual,a lot drier then usual.
"Who goes there?" A guard demanded.
"Queen Majikku of Estira." The Queen replied formally.
The guard looked hard at her face and recognized her, and let her past immediately.
She rode a few more hours till she reached the castle. The guards had already prepared for her arrival. They knew the minute she met the border control, and immediately ket her in and escorted her to see King Persith.
"Queen Majikku, it's a pleasure to see you. I wish you would have sent me word before dropping in." King Persith said formally.
"It's a pleasure to see you King Persith, I'm sorry I didn't send word but I came hastily and in great urgency. And besides you already knew the minute I touched your border." The Queen replied.
"My dear lady what's wrong?" He asked concerned,
"As I'm sure you already know my kingdom is at war with the piksas, and I fear I might not have the men to keep them away for long. I was wondering if you could send me reinforcements to help keep them away."
"Ah so things are worse then I thought..I will send men to aid you but as I'm sure you noticed are in the middle of a drought. We are barely feeding our villages so if I am to send aid you'll need to feed the men yourself."
"I am sure we can accommodate the needs of your men." The Queen replied assuringly.
"Ok then it is settled I'll make arrangements immediately." The King replied with finality in his voice.
"Your majesty if you don't mind I'd like to send I letter to my daughter who is in my stead at home. I would not want your force to be mistaken as hostile." The Queen said eloquently.
"I agree. I will send for parchment and ink, and send a messenger pigeon to give word. Stay the night and rest your steed and yourself."
"Thank you for your aid and welcome. I would be honored to stay in your home."
"Your room is ready, go and rest. I will have a maid to call you to dinner."
"Thank you" the Queen curtsied and left the throne room.
She rested in her room till supper.
"Things are going well. I wonder how Rebecca is doing." The Queen thought.
"I hope she's well."
