Maya's POV
Riley flung the front door open and approached the dining room table."I'm so excited! I can already picture a little Lucas! What do you think he's gonna look like?"
"Well when he's born he is probably gonna look like a potato." I chuckled
"Yeah...I'm really happy for you Maya. That you have a loving soon to be husband and a baby on the way."
"I feel blessed Riles, it took me a while to notice that."
1 week later
I could feel the warm sun peaking through my windows. The song "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" by The Beatles was playing in my head. I woke up feeling happy and that nothing is gonna ruin it.*regurgitates* "ugh I knew I shouldn't have had that popcorn." I said with my face over the toilet.
"Riley! Why didn't you tell me not to eat that popcorn!!!" I exclaimed
"I did! Many times!"
I wiped my mouth.
"When was the last time you talked to Lucas?"
"Uhhhh...like a week ago. There probably isn't good connection over there in Pakistan...."
"Maya? It's Afghanistan..."
"Whatever, they are like the same place."
"They are totally different states! They are neighbors but not the same-"
"Riley! I don't want a lesson of North America!"
"It's not even apart of America! It's in Asia! I'm done I'm just-"
Riley left the room with her hands on her head.
I have been pretty absent minded lately...all I think about is the baby. I can't wait for Lucas to come home, if he was here he would probably make fun of my big belly. I miss that.
There was a knock at the door.
It took me a while to get up.
"Coming!" I said as I wobbled to the door
When I opened the door, there were two army men standing in my doorway.
I looked at them kinda confused.
"Mrs. Hart?" One of the men said.
"Who's at the door?" Riley said from my room.
"Maya?"
Riley's POV
I walked over to the front door noticing Maya was on the floor.
"Maya!"
Something fell from her hands. It was Lucas' tag.
"He's-he's gone."
