"Yeah, but the law sucks ass." I whispered, finally calmed down. I sat up and wiped my tears, I broke today. I finally had to much and I broke. I turned to Alec with my eyes watering.
"How come you never tried to stop it?"
"Because, I guess I kind of wanted it to happen. I was ten, and you were my first crush. It seemed like my mom knew that and after you left, I never thought about. I tried to keep any thought of you out of my head, good or bad." He admired.
"Alec, I was nine when I ran. Things happened that changed me, things that I don't like talking about. I'm broken Alec and I have been for a while." I said while thinking of all the things that happened. Alec nodded before standing up and holding his hand out for me. I took it hesitantly and let him pull my up. He took my hands in his before looking me in the eyes.
"My parents are making me marry, and if I'm going to do it then I'm doing it on my terms." I sucked in a breath.
"The clave doesn't think that the Lightwoods are trustworthy anymore and I have to restore my family name." My bottom lip quivered.
"That is why I decided to follow my head, not my heart. My heart is telling me to do this because I love you. I have loved you. But my head is telling me to do this for a different reason. If I do this then my family is one step closer to taking back their positions as the leader of the institute." I nodded, knowing this needed to be done. He got down on one knee and pulled out a velvet box. Alec opened it, revealing a beautiful diamond ring, and looked up at me.
"Will you, Silver Wayland, marry me?" He asked, I nodded.
"Yes." Alec stood up, and took my hand. He slipped the ring onto my ring finger, and I looked up at him.
"You know what. If we're going to do this, the were going to do this." I said firmly before smashing my lips onto his. My hands were on his cheeks, and I soon pulled away. I smirked at him.
"I guess your mom ended up getting what she wanted after all." I said before walking out of the room.
