I stared at the ground, my heart dropping. I couldn't do this, but I can't back out of it either. I had to go through with this, even if it's the last thing I want to do. The silent brother started the ritual, soon enough it being time for us to complete the bond. I turned around to Izzy grabbing Alec's stele that laid on a pillow. We locked eyes and my parabati's eyes softened.
"You don't have to do this." She whispered so it was only audible to me. I smiled at her.
"I know." I whispered back before turning to face my soon to be husband once more. I grabbed his outstretched hand, turning it palm up before turning and pressing the tip of Alec's stele to the angelic rune on a mineral block. I pulled it away, a trail of smoke flooding from it. I brought it to Alec's hand, hesitating. I can do this, for Alec. Just as I was ready though, a loud bang rang through the chapel. My head swiveled to the sound, a certain warlock emerging.
"Magnus?" I whispered in shock. Maryse stood up abruptly, rushing down the isle to Magnus. Alec's stele dropped from my hand, cluttering to the floor.
"You need to leave, now." She demanded, only for Magnus to brush past her.
"This is between me and Silver. I'll leave if she asks me too." I heard him say. I turned my head to Alec, looking at him in sadness.
"I feel like I can't breath." I told him softly, taking in a jagged breath. He grabbed my hand, rubbing circles onto the back of it with his thumb.
"You deserve to be happy Silver, if this isn't what you want I won't blame you." Alec told me, causing me to drop my hand to my side and step down a stair. All eyes flew to me as I walked down the stairs, stopping at the bottom before striding to the downworlder. Maryse strode past Magnus, trying to pull me back.
"Silver-"
"Enough." I told her, fed up with all her shit she's piled onto me for the past decade. I walked past her and straight up to Magnus, throwing myself into his arms and hugging him.
"You came." I whispered to him, tears streaming down my face.
"My friend needed me." He whispered back. I tucked my head into his neck and laughed. I felt a hand on my back and pulled away from Magnus, turning to face Simon and Clary.
"That was amazing!" Simon exclaimed, Alec now joining us. I cocked my head to the side, leaning into Alec when he wrapped his arm around me. He started rambling on about some movie and how it was almost exactly like our wedding. When he was done he had this crazed look on his face.
"Who invited the vampire?" Alec questioned annoyed. I elbowed him before leaving the three boys and grabbing Izzy. We left the chapel, going back to my room.
"I have to say, even if you did leave my brother at the alter, you looked hot doing it." Izzy said, causing me to laugh. We ran through the halls, laughing when one of us would stumble. It was nice, calming, even if it was only for a little bit. When we made it to my room I collapsed onto my bed. Izzy shutting the door before sitting on the end of my bed.
"I fucked up." I said laughing.
"No, we fucked up." Izzy said, saddens in her voice. I pushed myself up and looked at her.
"How?"
"We forced you guys to get married. My mom, my dad, me. We all put so much pressure on you two, but we never realized we were only making you resent him." Izzy said, a tear running down her face. I shifted closer to her and hugged her.
"It's not your fault Isabelle. I should've said no, it's no ones fault but mine." I told her softly, comforting her as she cried. She soon calmed down and I hopped out of my bed after taking off my shoes. I walked over to my door and opened it, turning to Izzy.
"You stay here while I go get some things." I told her vaguely before stepping out of my room and closing the door. I took down my hair before throwing it up into a bun and walked to the kitchen, still in my dress only now barefooted. When I got there I was surprised to see Alec and Magnus, along with Robert leaving the room in a hurry. I walked up to them, still unseen as I entered the opposite way. Standing next to Alec, I looked up at him.
"What was that about?" I questioned, big boys jumping in shock. I pursed my lips at them and raised my eyebrows.
"My parents are less than pleased with us." Alec said, rolling his eyes.
"When are they ever." I groaned before leaving the two once again and grabbing what I needed before making my way back to my room where Izzy was.
