You breathe out and start to shuffle along the edge of the tunnel at an agonisingly slow pace, each movement felt like thousands of needles jabbing at your back as it scraped along the rough wall.
The survivors around you, including Harry and your brother, began to copy your actions until everyone that was left was shuffling along the side of the tunnel. You were relieved that Michael had made it, not knowing how you'd have coped if he didn't. You'd be all alone as you didn't really know anybody else. Not that this was the worst thing happening at the moment, you could think of far worse scenarios than being in a group of strangers.
Eventually you reach the end of the tunnel, light was pouring in as it opened out to reveal familiar surroundings. As your eyes adjusted to the half light, you examined the land as disappointment flooded through your veins. It was just another part of the rat run.
Anger boiled up inside you as you turned to find Harry with a sad look in his eyes, your brother was looking around the area with some others.
