After a while you continue to walk on towards the city, eventually you reach the edge of it and see people at the front of it.
Your eyes widen and you begin to run towards the entrance, you're stopped by a security team who make you drop any weapons or bags.
They escort inside, straight away your ears are met with the busy sound of people going about their daily business. Nobody looks like they live in poverty and nobody looks unhappy, it instantly makes you feel a bit better. That maybe you could build a life here.
It's not a completely ruined city but instead reinvented. Neon signs in a strange scribbled language that you don't understand hang from several buildings as you're led through the streets towards a very large building.
You're led inside to meet with the leader, she is quite tall and pale with light blonde hair in a bob.
"Welcome, I've heard that you've travelled a long way." She smiles at the the four of us, you smile faintly back. "How many of you started this journey?" She asked and you looked at Harry.
"Nearly 20." He says solemnly and she purses her lips.
"I hear you escaped from their city, your bodies aren't used to the conditions of the Badlands which is why so many of you didn't make it." She explains as you nod. "We have an injection to give you all, it helps to give your bodies the strength to fight the harsher atmosphere out here. I'm surprised that you made it this far."
She nods as four helpers walk over and give you an injection, you wince as the needle goes into your arm but feel relief that you wouldn't die like the others.
After being vaccinated, you are escorted to an apartment building close by. Each of you are given a separate room, once the helper leaves you slump down against the door.
Thinking of all the people you'd lost and how you'd gotten to this point, so much had changed in less that a week and it was hurting your head. Trying to grieve your brother but also trying to start a whole new life wasn't working.
After you've showered and changed for the first time in just under a week, you sat on your bed and wondered what to do next.
