Every Prince Needs A Princess (Rivamika)

Chapter 11

-Mikasa's POV-

I quickly looked away, trying not to get distracted. There was silence, silence filling the room. No one spoke and I didn't know what to do. Suddenly, I heard a sharp bell, signaling someone coming in. To get away from the awkward silence, I called for the person to come in. Eren looked somewhat annoyed, but still answered the door politely. Armin quickly walked in, a short scroll in his hand.

"Princess Mikasa!" He called, rushing to me, "A letter from Prince Levi!"

I looked curiously at the scroll held out towards me, wondering what the message might be. Quickly, I relieved him of his burden and carefully opened the scroll. I scanned down the piece of parchment before rolling it back up. 

"Thank you, Armin," I nodded my head.

"What did it say?" Eren approached cautiously, as if something was wrong.

"I must meet Prince Levi at his castle, immediately." I glanced back over at Armin, "Armin, get ready a horse. I will ride."

"Not your carriage, Princess?" He gave me a puzzled look before shaking his head.

"I can ride a horse! Don't think of me so lowly Armin." I gave him a stern look, checking the clock, "Now, off you go,"

"Yes, Princess!" Armin said energetically before turning and rushing out the door.

I sauntered around my room quietly, still pondering the message. I remembered the message clearly in my head:

Dear Princess Mikasa,

The time afoot is urgent. I have received the most uncomforting letter from Prince Jean of Belgium. He has threatened me using you as a reason. Alas! War may be just around the corner. Meet at my castle. This is an urgent matter.

-Prince Levi of England

There must have been something coming. Something definitely big.

-Levi's POV-

I paced around my room, wondering what just happened. Jean's letter was threatening, you could even say a declaration of war over a girl. It was absolute madness, but I suppose it's best suited to Jean's attitude towards everything.

"Your Highness!" Farlan called as he entered through the grand doors of my room.

"Yes, Farlan..." I turned swiftly, hoping to hear the news that I wished direly to hear-that Princess Mikasa had arrived. "Is the Princess here?"

"No, Prince Levi," Farlan bowed his head, "But, she is riding here on horseback right now."

"So the Princess isn't much like a princess as much as I thought. I guess she has some adventurous blood in her." I shrugged, chuckling all the while. "Fetch me Isabel, I presume she must know what to make of this situation, especially with her obsession with the Princess."

"Y-Yes, Your Highness!" With that, Farlan made his exit. Somehow, something dark seemed to be at hand, something deadly and not to be played with.

"Levi~!" Isabel soon jumped into the room, interrupting my train of thought.

"Ah, Isabel," I raised an eyebrow, "What is that...?" Pointing to the white object in her hand, she smiled.

"It's a bird I found in the yard. Looks like his...or her, wing is broken..."

Shaking my head, I chuckled once more. Isabel was always like this, caring especially for animals and wildlife. She was sweet and kind especially to animals, instead of humans...but, nevertheless, she was a good servant to have in the house.

"I want you to go meet Princess Mikasa outside." The order was clear and simple, "She's riding here as fast as possible on horse back. Can you handle it?"

"Of course, Levi! Who do you think I am?!" Smiling cheekily, she dashed out of the room.

The time has begun, the time for a deep discussion with the Princess Mikasa on dire matters.
