"Ah~ my eyeliner is ruined! Why didn't the news tell us to expect rain today? I forgot my umbrella at home too." Whined Baekhyun as he ran while using his bag as a shield over his head to keep his hair from getting wet.
He soon spotted a bus stop in the distance and grinned, picking up his speed. Baekhyun found himself panting heavily right after taking a seat, now wiping the little droplets of water gathered by his chin. His hair was a little damp but his uniform managed to stay dry.
Normally Baekhyun would go home by car, today however he felt like walking, but he wasn't aware that mother nature would change course to come along and pay him an unexpected visit.
Walking home wasn't a big deal to many, but to him it was. Baekhyun grew up in an atmosphere he never enjoyed at all. Sure, he got whatever he asked for but he never really got to have the childhood other kids his age had due to how busy his parents were. The poor boy didn't even have any friends to hang out with until he met Luhan in third grade, and Lu-ge had just transferred from China as his father owned one of the best architectural businesses and needed to tend to his new firm established in Seoul at the time.
Baekhyun continued to wipe away the droplets on his face, not really paying attention around him, but he wasn't alone at the bus stop because someone else sat not too far from him. He wore a black beanie over his head with huge frames seated on the bridge of his nose. His outfit was casual and he had on black sneakers to go with the cardigan that sat firmly on his broad shoulders.
Baekhyun was still oblivious to the other's presence as he wiped away his ruined eyeliner with his napkin, water now dripping on his blazer from the roof, making his frown.
"And they said it was waterproof too.." he sighed, "I'll have to pay them a visit one of these days and give them a piece of my mind." He said as he folded the piece of cloth and put it away in his pocket.
Sighing as he ruffled his hair, Baekhyun would look down the way he just ran from and watched the little drops of water fall to the ground, creating a soft rhythm that made him hum.
He grinned when he noticed a little boy with his parents walking up the path, the child wearing a raincoat as he excitedly jumped in the tiny rain puddles while his parents followed closely with umbrellas over their heads, watching him with warm smiles and enjoying the moment.
"To be a child again..." His smile weakened to a sad one before he looked the other way and realized that he wasn't alone anymore. The boy who sat in the seat next to him just stared back, which Baekhyun found uncomfortable.
He was the first to look away and pull his phone out. His eyes grew into the size of lemons, he couldn't believe he nearly forgot. He immediately dialed Kyungsoo's number and looked back at the little boy jumping puddles while tapping his feet.
The call would go through a few rings later, "Yeoboseyo?"
"Neh Yeoboseyo! Kyungie-ah! It's me."
"Oh Baekhyun! Where are you? It's been ten minutes already!"
"Mianhaeyo~ I got caught walking in the rain, so I'll be taking the bus to your place. Can you wait for me till then? We could start our project after that.. Is it alright?"
"Yeah, I don't mind the wait. Just be careful and if it gets worse, forget the bus. I'll ask eomma to come pick you up."
"There's no need! I'll be fine. By the way Kyungie-ah, can you spare some warm clothes for me. I don't want to catch a cold right now."
"Yeah. I'll get them ready and done. See you then!"
