The Vehement [ON HOLD]

~Chapter 2~

"Are you staying or visiting, sir?" The clerk asked the pair of agents.

Daniel looked at the woman behind the desk. "Uh, visiting. Thank you."

Peggy threw the woman a smile as she nodded and followed Daniel to the elevator. "What do you think he's doing?" Daniel asks over the music.

"Probably sleeping too late after a nap." Peggy chuckled and Daniel joined her.

The elevator bell rung and the door opened. They walked the short way to Thompson's door. Peggy reached it seconds before Daniel did and knocked on the off white door. No answer. She knock three more short times. Daniel stepped forward and twisted the knob. "It's unlocked..." He says raising an eyebrow. Peggy shrugs her shoulders.

Daniel opened the door. Peggy gasped at the sight before her and rushed to the Agent's side. She put her fingers to his neck. "He still has a pulse."

Daniel was already on the phone. "I need an ambulance immediately!"
Daniel listed the girl they were at and the room number.

"Who would've done something like this?" Daniel asks as he bends down to Jack's side.

"I don't know," Peggy shook her head in disbelief.

Within minutes the ambulance was at the hotel and EMTs were rushing in. They checked his pulse and heartbeat. Peggy and Daniel rush out of the room to stay out of the way. They were met with an older police officer.

"What's the young man's name?" He asked the two SSR agents.

"Jack Thompson," Daniel replied as he watched the EMTs carry him out the hotel room.

"Like, SSR Jack Thompson," He asked again.

"Yeah," Daniel almost scoffed but kept it back considering what was going on.

"Who are you?" The officer continued to pepper the Duo with questions.

"Agent Peggy Carter, SSR. And Agent Daniel Sousa," Peggy answered this time.

"Do you know anyone that would've done this?"

"No. Not at present anyway," Peggy answered.

"When was the last time you saw him?"

"A few hours ago," Daniel replied. Peggy nodded in agreement.

"When did you arrive?"

"Minutes before we called for an ambulance." Peggy stated truthfully.

The officer sighed as he continued to write down the answers. "Well, I'm done here. I'll start in touch."

Peggy smiled. Daniel shakes his hand, "Thank you, officer."

So I know these first chapters are kind of boring but excitement will be here come next chapter. :)
