The Vehement [ON HOLD]

~Chapter 11~

A knock at the door interrupted both of their thoughts. "Yes?" Daniel said signaling for... whoever to open the door.

The agent walked in and saw Peggy. "What's she doing back?" He asked rudely, as if she wasn't in the room. Peggy looked at Daniel who was glaring at the agent.

"She works here. Do you have a problem, Agent Smith?" His tone showed irritation and protection.

The agent was taken back. "N-no sir. Just thought it unorthodox."

"Well don't," Daniel said. He added a little more snippy than planned. "What do you need?"

Agent Smith handed him a piece of paper. "Rose said to get this to you immediately."

"Thank you," He said in dismissal.

When the Agent left, Peggy chuckled. "What's so funny?" Daniel asked. He has opened the piece of paper but was looking at Peggy.

"Your a little over protective, Daniel," Peggy said. "What does it say?"

Daniel looked down and read it. His brows furrowed as he looked back up. Handing the note to Peggy, he says, "It says, 'Back in LA? I have a better place planned...'"

"Huh," Peggy looked at it while Daniel picked up the phone. "I don't recognize the handwriting."

"Yeah, Rose," Daniel says as Rose answers. "Where did this note come from?"

"It was in our mailbox. I have no idea." Rose said.

"Thanks, Rose." Daniel hung up the phone. He turned to Peggy and queries, "Well... Interesting to say the least."

"Hm-mm," Peggy handed the note back to Daniel, her hand brushing his slightly. She quickly withdrew her hand and looked at her watch. "Oh, I better get going. It was good to see you again."

"Yeah, you too." They shook hands and as Peggy opened the door, he asked quickly, "You, Uh..."

"Yes?" Peggy urged, while arching a quizzical brow.

"Would you wanna grab a drink sometime?" Daniel finished scratching the back of his head.

Peggy chuckled at his shyness. "I'd love to, Daniel."

Daniel nodded his head satisfied and Peggy left the building, hailing a taxi to take her to her home.
