Dedication to PaintedSky. Started With a Lie is just so amazing it makes me wanna cry. It is one of the first books I've read on Wattpad when I discovered the web-page and truthfully, it's possibly the only one I followed from the very beginning and still wait for every update. Great work!
Hannah ---------->
[Chapter 7]
'Awkward' must be my second and middle name. And it's not just because of the almost kiss we shared Aiden and I yesterday which, by the way I really do wish to forget but also for the uncomfortable situation during breakfast this morning.
Just a quick resume, Peyton and dad wouldn't stop talking about school, relationships, blablabla so we both decided to leave earlier, get to school and escape from our parents.
So now here I am, in Aiden's car in the school parking lot waiting since we're early, but the silence and tension surrounding us is not very comfortable I may say. So I do the thing I always do when I don't want to talk to anybody, I take out my phone and pretend to be busy. Though Plants Vs Zombies isn't exactly the definition of being occupied, I play the game for the next fifteen minutes till I die for the third time and zombies eat my brains.
"Damn zombies." I mutter quietly.
"You should plant more sunflowers instead of so many peashooters, you know."
Surprised, I raise my head and look at Aiden but then I frown. "But how am I going to kill the zombies without peashooters! Sunflowers are useless, they don't attack, they just give suns and I have to wait a lot for them to rise."
"Yes, but if you have more then they'll make suns faster and you will be able to buy more peashooters or whatever plant you want." He says back, and I hate admit, but he's right. But hey, not that I'm telling him.
"Okay, whatever." I say, turning my attention back to the phone.
"You just don't want to admit I'm right." Aiden smirks.
"Because you're not."
"Oh yes, I am."
"Can we just drop it?"
"Only if you say that I am right, that I'm always right and I am the master!" He says, as his smirk grows wider and he rests his arm on the back of my seat.
"Now you're deluding if you think I'll say the last part. What did you have for breakfast?" I chuckle nervously as he approaches me more and more each second.
"Blueberry pancakes. And don't change the topic." He answers. Then, Aiden grabs me suddenly and starts tickling my tummy as I let out a scream/laugh.
"Stop! Pl-Please stop!" I try to say between laughs.
"I will if you say it."
"Never!" I shoot back.
"Okay then, but remember it was your choice!" He shouts as he tickles me more.
"Fine! Fine! Aiden's right, he always is and..."
"And?" What else Abby?" He chuckles.
"...He is the master." I finally say as he lets out a laugh.
I squirm in my seat, and that's when I notice in the position we actually are. Aiden's nearly on top of me, his left hand holding both of my hands above my head and his right one on my waist. I look up at him and realize that his amusing face is long gone, and now it's replaced for a serious expression, looking at me in a weird way.
"Abby, about yesterday..." He starts.
"Yeah?" I nervously say.
"I want you to know that-" A knock in the window startles both of us.
"Get a room!" A guy that if I remember correctly is called Liam yells from outside.
Aiden releases me. "Let's go." He sighs, opening the door and getting out of the car. I do the same and follow him out.
"I'll see you later." I tell him once I spot Ree and Hannah near the entrance door. He nods as I walk towards my friends."So I see the two of you are getting on well?" Hannah smirks knowingly.
I shrug. "Let's go in."
