[Chapter 16] Sorry, unedited

Two weeks have passed since the "incident", and it has been insufferable to say the least. Both Aiden and I have been avoiding each other like the plague, not even acknowledging one another at school and exchanging the minimum interaction possible at home. Our parents seemed worried though. Thinking we had a fight they have tried to get us together whenever they could at the dinner table, but Aiden simply just shrugged off the topic and I left to my room upstairs.

I didn't feel comfortable with our actual relationship but it was for the best. Right?

We should carry with the lives we had before knowing each other, him with the basketball team and I with my two best friends. Yet as much as I wanted to convince myself of it, any of these reasons seemed right.

Christmas holidays started in two weeks, which meant that exams were coming soon as well and I was literally -well, not literally- shitting my pants for the upcoming physics test on Friday.

On a sunny Sunday like today, I didn't have neither school nor work, which was perfect for a trip to the local library to get some kinematics books.

"I'm going out for a couple of hours, will be on time for dinner!" I cry out opening the front door and closing it behind me.

"Have fun honey!" I hear my dad shout from inside.

It takes around twenty minutes to get to the library, so I put my earphones on and start playing the music from my phone.

Four hours. Fours damn hours wasted for nothing. I feel like crying for my incapacity of understanding the basics of the shitty subject. Seriously, how could I get A+ in almost everything but barely scratch a C and only, if I am lucky enough, a miraculous B? Yep, that happened once. In middle school.

Groaning in frustration I stretch my hair. I have had enough.

I get up from the chair and start packing up. I shove all the scattered papers on the table into my bag and pick up the books I borrowed from the stands and put them back to their place.

Today is not my day. I'll call Ree to see if she can come to the Jensen's to help me.

As soon as I exit the place, I dial her number.

Please, please take the phone call. I amd praying to the Gods.

"Yes?" I hear from the other line. Hallelujah.

"Ree! I'm dying here." I nearly sob.

"Chill out you Drama Queen. What's wrong?"

I explain her the situation and beg her to help me. She's the boss when it comes to science, and she barely tries when I... Whatever.

"I'm at La Vita, but I have lunch break in fifteen minutes. Come and I'll try to help you, alright?"

"Yes yes yes! You're the best friend anyone could have!"

     "Okay, calm down you nerd."

     I laugh and hung up.

As soon as I arrive at the restaurant, I greet Nana. She makes some nerdie remarks towards me, regarding why on earth am I studying on a beautiful day like this. I swear YOLO must be her motto.
