[Chapter 10]
"A-Aiden?" My voice comes out dry. "What's wrong?"
"Abby." He whispers my name as he starts to walk to me.I quickly sit on my bed. "What are you doing here?" I nervously ask, looking everywhere but him.
"This is my house." He chuckles, now sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Of course it is, but I meant my bedroom. What are you doing in my bedroom." I roll my eyes. "And what time do you think it is to arrive home so late?"
He smirks. "Were you waiting for me?"
I look up at his annoying but handsome face and feel the air rush out of my lungs. The reflection of the moon on his face makes him look like an angel. The way his eyes are sparkling, looking at me with such adoration is making me forget how to breath.
"You wish." I manage to say, though it sounded more like a whisper.
Aiden smiles, putting his hand on top of mine. "Yes, I do." He tilts his head to me, the vision of his face getting closer and closer...
And I wake up.
I open my eyes abruptly.
I turn my head and glance at my alarm. 7:10h.I still have time to take a shower before Ree comes to pick me up so before it's too late, I get out of the bed, quickly choose a pair of clothes and make my way to the bathroom.
What kind of dream was this? Dream? No, nightmare. Yes, that's it. It was a terrible nightmare that I never, ever want it to become real. Ever, understood Abby?
But just as I turn the corner, Aiden comes out, only wearing a towel around his lower part of the body. That body.
His hair is dripping from the recent shower, water wetting his neck and falling down to his muscled back in the process. He doesn't notice me as he walks to his room but a couple of seconds passed after he got in and closed the door, though I stay dumbfounded in the same spot for who knows how long.
Finally coming to my senses, I slap myself in the face -hard- and hurry up to get into the bathroom.
As soon as I'm dressed up, with my hair combed and my school bag hanging on my back, I get out of my room and sprint to the front door, ignoring everyone who's already eating breakfast in the kitchen table. I think I've heard my dad call my name twice to ask me to join them I guess but I pretended not to hear anything at all and quickly got out of the house.
I run to the driveway, spotting Ree's car approaching from the distance, becoming bigger and bigger every second. She slowly stops next to me, unlocking the passenger door so I can open it.
I don't think twice and quickly get in, slamming the door shut. "C'mon, let's go." I tell her while buckling the seat-belt.
"Nice to see you too." Ree says.
I groan in frustration. "Ree. Please. Start the car."
"Alright, alright!"
During the twenty minute drive my friend wouldn't stop complaining about some creepy guy, how he kept texting her yesterday night, asking random questions like her favorite food, movie, hobbies... He was 'so freaking annoying' -her words, not mine-. And the list goes on and on.
In the middle of her rambling I stopped her and asked who she was talking about, but she either simply ignored my question or didn't hear me because she carried on.
I guess I don't know him or maybe Ree doesn't remember his name either since she has always been a pretty popular girl. She definitely has the looks, the intelligence and her mature personality has attracted to many guys before. However, she speaks way too much when she's annoyed.
