Chapter 1

"...kay?  I need a hand here guys!"

I blinked slowly, staring at the moon hidden behind the tall trees surrounding me.  The echo of voices soon came back and I turned towards them, my head throbbing in pain as I moved.  I hissed as a blindingly bright light obscured my vision and the pounding in my head intensified.  My eyes shut in pain and I turning my face away into the dirt beside me.  Dirt?  My eyes shot open and I sat up immediately, scooting away from the man in front of me and those behind him as best I could.  My left leg brushed the earth below harshly as I hit the trunk of a tree and I cried out as all the pain in my thigh came at me in one fell swoop.  I clutched the bloody limb as a burning pain pulsed in time with the beat of my heart.

"Hey, hey it's ok.  We're here to help.  Can you stand?" The man before me asked.

I braced myself against the tree, doing my best to stand without my leg.  I put pressure on the limb, only to collapse back to the ground, face to face with a severed stomach.  I screamed, snatching my hand away from the puddle of blood it lay in and wiping it furiously on the ground while hyperventilating.  "Oh my God.  Oh my God.  Oh my God." Tears filled my eyes as sobs wracked my body.  I didn't know where I was, I didn't know why I was there or what happened to me, and I was scared out of my mind.

A heavy coat was wrapped around me and I was lifted into someone's arms, but all I could do was stare glassy eyed at the bottom half of the dead girl.  I stared in horror at the gruesome sight until it was too far away to see any longer, but I continued to stare off into the woods.  I knew I was in shock; my hearing kept coming and going, I couldn't focus on any one thing in particular, and I was losing track of time.  I didn't know when I was set down in the back of a police car, I didn't take notice to the man wrapping my thigh with a shirt and I didn't hear the door close.  All I did was stare back into the forest.  As we drove away from the woods, I rested my pulsing head on the cool window and shut my eyes.

I was awoken by a hushed voice coaxing me from my slumber. "Hey, we're here."

Here?  Where were we?  A few minutes of sleep seemed to do me well as when I looked around to the hospital outside the car window, my head didn't jolt with pain as much as it had before and my hearing was back to normal.  The man opened his door and got out of the car before opening my door for me.  I scooted towards the opening and let the man pick me up and carry me out of the parking lot and into the hospital.  Many people looked at us, but I was too preoccupied with the wound on my thigh to take much notice.

A pretty nurse with curly black hair approached us immediately, steering us into a room where we waited for a doctor.  As I sat on the bed I inspected my leg.  It had stopped bleeding profusely sometime in my sleep and as I lifted the shirt a bit, I could see that it was some type of animal that did this.  The man shifted in his seat and I looked up at him, now aware of just how bad I looked.  He opened his mouth to speak, but before he could voice his thoughts a doctor walked in, the nurse from before behind him with medical supplies.

An hour later I sat under the covers, my leg patched up and my headache pounding worse than ever before due to Doctor Myers' poking and prodding.  He was currently marking things off on his clipboard at the foot of my bed. "When can I rest?"

The doctor looked up from his work and smiled at me as he stepped to the side of my bed where there was a vacant chair.  The police officer I now knew as Sheriff Stilinski had left to get coffee and food, leaving me alone to be questioned.  Doctor Myers took a seat and flipped to a different page on the clipboard. "Well, it seems you have a severe concussion so we're going to need to monitor you for the next few days.  The Sheriff volunteered to stay with you tonight and will wake you every two hours to check on you and make sure the concussion hasn't caused any problems.  Now I'm going to ask you a series of questions and I want you to try and answer them, is that ok with you?"

I nodded my head and he began.  It turns out I have retrograde amnesia.  I couldn't seem to remember anything really.  I couldn't answer most of his questions—I didn't know anything about myself.  All I knew was that I woke up in the woods next to half a dead girl and a police officer.  The doctor left after that, turning the light off and telling me to get some rest and that the pills he had given me for pain would go into effect soon.

I laid in the bed, the covers tightly surrounding me as I looked out the window at the moon above.  It was the first thing I saw when I woke up.  It was the beginning of this life for me, and I didn't know what that meant.  And I hated not knowing.

So what do you think? This is my first ever fanfiction! I just started re-watching the show and couldn't help myself when I thought of this storyline.

Phoebe will not be getting into a relationship right away as she has her own problems to worry about.  I don't know when exactly she'll become interested in someone of the opposite sex, but I already know who that person will be so it will happen eventually.  It'll be a gradual thing for her, unlike most fanfiction.  I think it makes it more realistic and fits the story line much better.

Thanks for reading and please comment, vote, and fan!

The chapters will be getting longer.

Above is Phoebe!

Edited.

(Please notify me if any mistakes are found. I edit chapters twice on my own and once by my sister, but we are human and can't catch all the mistakes. Thanks!)
