Kunti was back again in hastinapur and the whole Hastinapur was very sad that they lost such a just king.
The only one who was happy was his elder brother Dritarashtra. He had not been given the rights of being a king even though he was the eldest because he was born blind. He was married to Gandhari the princess of Gandhari. They had 101 children. Duryodhan was very strong and quiet a rude person. He was jealous of the pandavas and he hated them.
But the kauravas and the pandavas were taught in the same place by guru Dronacharya. He had a son named Ashwathama. He was also taught in the same place. But Dronacharya taught only for King's sons and Kshatriyas. Out of all his students Dronacharya liked Arjun the most and favoured him the most. This angered the kauravas and his own son.
After many days and after the training had reached to a certain level the guruji planned to keep a small test.
He brought all the students near a tree and asked them to aim with bow and arrow. When guruji asked them what they were aiming, no one could answer properly.
When it was Arjuna's turn he said,"I can only see the birds eye." everyone including guruji were surprised.
When guruji asked him to aim he gained exactly at the birds eye.
Guruji was very happy to see this progress in him.
There was an other test one day. Guruji had gone into the river to bath.
Just then a crocodile appeared and caught hold of guruji's leg. He screamed for help but everyone had already ran away. But Arjun took his bow and arrow and shoot the crocodile. Guruji was very happy and later told him that it was his trick to test his students and Arjun has passed the test.
One day when Arjun was eating, the wind blew the lamp fire. But without any trouble, Arjun could eat even without seeing. He then understood the fact that if anybody concentrates and does any work it will only lead them to their destiny. Arjun was surprised by his own action.
All of a sudden guruji heard some sort of noise. What he saw surprised him. Arjun was practising archery. When guruji asked him why was he practising in this late night,he narrated the incident which he experienced.
Guruji was very impressed by Arjun and said, "putr, today I promise you that you will be the world's greatest Archer. Nobody will ever be able to beat you. This is my promise and a boon to you."
