Cory's POV:
I couldn't wake her up so I called the ambulance. They came and picked her up, I told them I was her boyfriend because they weren't going to let me ride with her. On the way to the hospital they got her to wake up but she didn't know what was going on.
When we got to the hospital, I got her phone and called her dad to tell him what was going on. I waited in the waiting room for the doctor to come tell me what was going on and while I was waiting her dad came rushing in.
"What'd they say?" He asked as soon as he seen me sitting there.
"They haven't came out yet, but on the way over they said that they could tell she hasn't ate a thing in a few days. Said they'd most likely be keeping her overnight."
"Delaney's family, this way please." When the doctor said that I began panicing.
All I could think was she was dead. She would never know how I feel about her.
"She's awake and was asking for you two. But first I'd like to talk to you two." We both nodded for the lady to go on. "We will be keeping her for a couple of days to monitor her eating and such."
We made our way into her room and she had IV's all up her arms, she looked scared. I just wanted to go over and hug her but I knew that'd make things weird.
"Come here Cory." She said when she seen me.
I walked over to her and she pulled me into a tight hug. I thought she'd never let go, but when she did I felt cold.
"Thank you." She whispered in my ear before I moved away.
The days turned into weeks and it was killing me. School would go by slower than usual. As soon as school got out I'd go to the hospital to sit with her until visiting hours were over. Her dad was worrying himself to death over her.
The weeks that she had been in the hospital, she had gained some weight, which was really good. She was eating much better than she was.
"Cory!" Delaney yelled into the phone happily, one day while I was at lunch.
"What? Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, I get to come home today." I could basically hear her smile.
"Really? What time?" I asked.
"As soon as we finish the paper work,"
"I'll be at your house as soon as I can. I have to go now though."
"Cory, wait." She said before I hung up. "Thank you for being here for me. Bye." Then she hung up.
The remainder of the day I thought about finally seeing her out of that hospital bed. Seeing her where she belongs.
Delaney's POV:
I was finally going home, finally able to sleep in my own bed. I called Cory the second I found out, that's the only person I really had besides my dad. Aiden pretty much stopped talking to me and I guess I was pretty much okay with that.
"Del, Cory's here for you." Dad yelled from down the hall.
I walked into the room and Cory was smiling at me. I walked up to him and pulled him into a hug.
"I'm glad you're home, Delaney." He said as he hugged me back.
"Me too."
For the first time since I've been back in this town, I seen him smile. He smiled a happy smile, one that I have never seen on him. I stood there just looking at him smile, his eyes showed no self-hatred or sadness.
