"What aren't you telling me?" Cory asked.
"Da..Damon.." I said, tears falling slowly.
Cory jumped up and got in my face.
"Get out." He said quietly.
"Cory, please."
"It could have been anyone and you picked him! You picked someone who fucking hates my guts and didn't bother telling me anything about it! Now, get out!" He yelled.
Cory's POV:
She cheated. Delaney fucking cheated on me and got pregnant.
I love her, why would she do this to me? How?
Tears were pouring quickly down my face. I should have seen something like this coming, I should have known. There is no way she could forgive me for treating her the way I did back then.
The thought of Damon came to mind, all of my anger transferred over to him. Why the fuck would he stoop this low? Was it even her fault? Did she want to have sex with him? Did he take advantage of her?
Without thinking, I dialed that number that I had dialed so many times before.
"Hello?" She's crying.
"Come back, we need to talk."
I hung up and threw my phone to the sofa.
About five minutes later she was back.
"Why'd you do it?" I asked.
"Do you want the whole story?"
I looked at her like 'no shit'.
"Um, one day after school, the day we had a big argument. I called Aiden to talk but he was busy. Damon was listening to me as I cried into the phone. I was in the school parking lot, he, um, asked if everything was okay. I lied and told him yeah, but he seen through it. He talked me into going back to his place to talk." So, he seen that she was upset and took that as his chance to get between us two.
"You lied to me, you said you were with Aiden."
"I know. I knew you would be mad if I said I was with Damon. But when we got to his house, we just sat in his living room, talking. We talked for a while then he began getting closer to me, he began kissing me. I felt wanted, like someone needed me."
"I needed you."
"I know..things just went too far."
"You think?" I asked.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for it to happen."
"If you didn't want it to happen, you could have stopped it."
"Um, I'll go now."
"No, I'm not kicking you out. You can stay here."
"What can I do to make this up to you?"
"I don't know right now. We can try to fix things later. I'll sleep on the couch and this doesn't mean I forgive you."
2 weeks later:
Delaney's POV:
I've been pretty much tiptoeing around Cory for the past two weeks because I'm afraid of screwing up again. Tonight Aiden and I were going to a bonfire at the lake to try to get things off of my chest.
I didn't tell Damon about me being pregnant, I decided to wait. Wait until the time was right, I guess.
Cory and I hadn't been telling each other where we were going and he hadn't been home all day. It was starting to worry me.
I got ready for the bonfire quickly being Aiden was already here waiting for me.
"Damn, look at that bump." Aiden said as soon as he seen me.
"Shut up. Let's go." I laughed.
"Look, you need to get this stuff of your chest. Stress is not good for the baby, I heard." Aiden told me as we were on our way.
Once we got there, I kind of felt like I should have stayed home. I felt like this was a big mistake. I didn't want to make Aiden leave early though, so I decided to stay and try to enjoy my time there. I sat down on a blanket with Aiden in the sancd.
"You can go hang out with everyone else if you want. Drink if you want, I'll drive home." I told Aiden.
"I'm staying right here with you, but I am going to get a drink. I'll be right back." He laughed.
"Are you fucking happy now you fucking prick?" I heard his voice yell.
I'm guessing whoever he was yelling at responded because his voice boomed again.
"Don't act fucking stupid, you know what and who I'm talking about. She doesn't deserve this shit!" Then it clicked, I ran over to where he was.
"Are you fucking..."
"Cory, stop!" I yelled.
"What are you doing here? You should be at home."
'Cory, he doesn't know. I haven't told him."
Cory laughed in my face, thinking I was lying. Then he stopped and looked at me confused.
Cory grabbed my hand and pulled me away from the crowd.
"You haven't told him you're pregnant? Why?" He asked.
"I don't know, I guess I'm waiting until the time is right."
Damon came stomping over to us, angrily.
"Tell me what the hell you were just yelling in my damn face for." Damon told Cory.
"It's not my place to tell you, man." Cory told him, angrily.
He placed his hand on my back as if telling me to tell him. I looked over at Cory and nodded my head.
"Well, I don't have all night." Damon spoke.
"Fine, I'm pregnant."
Damon straight up laughed in my face like I had just told the funniest joke in the world. Then the laughing stopped quickly and his face grew pissed off.
"Don't you try to put this shit on me! You're nothing but a sleep-arounder." Damon yelled at me, moving closer to me with every word he spoke.
I don't know if it was just me but it looked like his hand was beginning to lift up towards me. Cory got in front of me and shoved Damon back.
"Don't you raise your damn hand to her, ever. Did your fucking family not teach you how to treat a fucking pregnant woman?" Cory yelled.
Damon walked away pissed off. Cory turned around to face me, I was hoping when he looked at me I'd see the loving Cory but I didn't. I still seen the disappointed Cory, it was like he was looking right through me. I felt the tears forming and looked away. He placed his hand under my chin and made me look at him.
"Why are you crying?" He asked.
"I miss us." He nodded. "I know this baby is yours."
"How?"
"I can just feel it."
"But it can't be."
"But I want it to be, I really do."
"When he or she is born, we'll do a DNA test."
"Really?"
"Of course. And if it's not mine, it's not mine. But I'll still be there for it." I smiled at him. "Even if we're not together, I'll be there for the baby."
"Not me?" I asked.
"Maybe you." He grinned.
He pulled me into a hug and I felt a hundred times better. It was like a huge weight had been lifted off of my shoulders.
