I sat in the waiting room crying for over an hour. The doctor walked out. "Family of Kacey Johnson-Carter," the doctor said.

"She's doing fine right now. She had a slight intentional overdose. She's sleeping right now. Only family is allowed to see her right now," The doctor said, "She's very lucky," she continued.

"Thank you," I said to the doctor as I walked into the room. Kacey was still asleep. I sat down on the chair next to the bed.

I pulled out my phone and called my mom.

Phone Convo

Mom: Hello
Me: You need to come to the hospital right now
Mom: Why?
Me: Kacey had an overdose
Mom: What! I'm on my way right now
Me: Ok
Mom: Bye. I'll see you there... Love you
Me: I love you too...Bye

End of Convo

As soon as I hung up, I got a text from Blue.

Text convo

Blue: Where are you
Me: At the hospital
Blue: What! Why! What happened!
Me: Nothing, Kacey was just depressed and did something really stupid
Blue: Oh Ok. Well I'll meet up with you at the hospital
Me: Ok

End of Convo

20 minutes later, my mom entered the room. "How is she doing," "The doctor said she is doing fine. She's sleeping now," I said as I hugged my mother.

She sat down on the couch across from Kacey. "Where's dad," I asked, "He's on the next flight here," mom said and I nodded.

Minutes later Blue entered the room. "Is she Ok?" She asked as soon as she entered her room.

"Yeah, she's fine. She's sleeping now," I said. Blue sighed in relief and sat down next to mom.

I noticed how Blue paid no attention to mom. If I said anything, they would argue again and now is not the time to argue but they also need to talk it out.

I debated in my mind on weather or not I'll say something. I came to a conclusion that I wasn't gonna say anything only because the reason all of us are here is because of Kacey and arguing isn't the best thing to do right now in this situation.

I sat and waited for those pretty brown eyes to open. It's been hours and still her eyes haven't opened.

Mom had something really important to do so she left. Blue went to go visit Sky and Dad never showed up.

It was getting late and I have work that has to be done so I gathered my stuff and headed for the door.

I was almost out the door when I heard a weak voice say my name. "Imani," the voice said once again.

I turned around and saw Kacey. A smile formed across my face. I quickly ran over to her and hugged her.

"Are you feeling Ok?" I asked and she nodded her head. "I have a massive headache though and I feel like throwing up," She said.

"Why did you attempt to kill yourself," I asked. Kacey stayed quiet. "Why, Kacey," I asked again but once again; I got no reply.

"Come on...You can tell me," I tried once again. She sighed. "It was an accident," She said.

"No it wasn't. The doctor said it was intentional," I said, "How the hell would the doctor know if it was an accident or intentional," Kacey said, " I don't know. Maybe because he was trained to know what is intentional and what is not," I said.

"Well, the doctor made a mistake," Kacey continued to lie. "I can't believe your going to continue to lie to me," I stated.

"I'm not lying," "How the hell can an overdose be an accident," "It can because mine was," she said.

I shook my head in disbelief. I couldn't believe that she would lay there and lie to me.

I pulled out my phone and search up weather or not an overdose can be an accident.

I felt kinda stupid seeing that there is such thing as an accidental overdose but I know that Kacey's overdose wasn't an accident. It was an attempt of suicide.

She grabbed my phone out of my hand.

"See there is such thing as an accidental overdose," she said. "I can clearly see that, Kacey...Your overdose wasn't accidental though," I replied.

"Yes it was," she said, "No it wasn't," I replied. "How were you gonna tell me. I'm the one that took the pill in the first place," She said.

"I know you, Kacey. This is totally something you would do. This time though, you could have killed yourself. Your 17 yrs. old, You shouldn't be drinking or taking pills-," I said but was interupped by Kacey.

"The pills were prescribed," she said. "For what. Your perfectly healthy," I said, "No I'm not. The medication I took was for my depression," she said.

"Your depressed for no fucking reason. You had me and everyone else worried to death. All because of some boy-," I said but was rudely interupped by Kacey.

"He wasn't some boy. He was someone who actually cared about me unlike you!" Kacey yelled.

"I do care about you. If I didn't, do you really think I would be standing her worried about you," I replied. She stayed quiet.

"You know what, I'm outta her. I'm not gonna stand her and argue with you. You obviously care about this boy more than anything else so I'm gonna let you do whatever you want," I said.

I grabbed my stuff and was almost out the door. "Imani wait," Kacey said.

I stopped and turned around.

"I'm sorry for putting you through all this," Kacey said.

"You have to forget about the past he made a stupid decision when he joined the gang. I understand he died in a senseless act of violence but you can't keep hurting yourself for his decision. Forget about tne past and focus on the future," I said.

"But," Kacey tried to say but I interupped her. "You have to choose. Is it gonna me or him," I said.

She stayed quiet so I just left.
