I finally arrived home. I got out of the car and entered the house.
"JADEN! BABY ARE YOU HOME?" I yelled when I entered.
"No, he went for a jog," I heard Blue's voice say. I walked in the direction the voice was coming from. I walked into the living room to see Blue sitting on the couch.
"Surprised to you here," I said as I walked into the room.
I sat down next to Blue who restrained making eye contact with me.
"Did you do it?" I asked.
Blue looked at me. "No, I wasn't able to. I'm a minor so I need a parent or guardian to sign off on it," She replied. "Okay, so did you go to mom or dad yet and talk to them about it," I said.
Blue chuckled and shook her head. "No, of course not. Imani, stop acting like you don't know me," Blue said. "That's why I'm here. I need you to sign off on it for me, please," She continued.
I shook my head in disbelief and laughed at her request. She had to be joking with me. She couldn't have been serious.
I stopped laughing and raised an eyebrow at her when I noticed that she was serious about it.
"First of all, you're crazy. I was against you having an abortion and you want me to give the doctors the okay to do it. Your bold for that. I want no part in your abortion that's all you. Second of all, that's a legal document and I'm not your parent nor guardian so, me signing that legal document is illegal and will carry some consequences," I said.
Blue huffed a very frustrated sigh and put her head down.
I looked down at her and sighed.
"Blue look at me," I said and Blue put her head up and looked at me, making eye contact for the very first time since this conversation started.
"Blue you need to tell mom about this," I said.
Blue shook her head. "No, I refuse. I don't want to see her, I don't want to speak to her, I want nothing to do with her," Blue quickly responded
"Both me and you know that isn't true," I replied. "Look, I don't care if you get the abortion or not. Like I said before, that's all you. I just didn't want that on your conscious and I didn't want you to be another statistic but if you truly believe that is something you need to do then, by all means, do it. If you're doing it because your afraid of what the media will say about it then that's an issue. Fuck the tabloids and fuck the media they don't matter. They have their opinions, yes but their opinions are invalid, okay. What I really care about though is your relationship with mom. You and her really need to get back on good terms. Pregnancy is something serious that you need to experience and go through with your mom...not me. Don't get me wrong, yes, I'll be there for but you have to understand that I have my own things to worry about." I continued.
Blue put her head back down and huffed another sigh.
"Fine, I'll talk to her. I'll tell her what happened to me," Blue said.
"Great! I'm not doing anything, I can take you to her house right now," I said.
"Sure, let's go," Blue replied sounding not so enthusiastic about it.
We both got up. "I'll meet you in the car, I forgot my phone in the kitchen plus I need to pee," Blue said. "Alright," I replied and walked in the opposite direction of Blue and towards the door.
I opened the door to see a woman on the other side about to ring the doorbell.
The woman looked at me with a smile on her face.
"Hi, Imani," she said.
A whirlwind of emotion built up inside of me after she spoke those words. I honestly didn't know what to feel at that moment.
Was that really her?
"Mom?" I finally spoke.
