Kacey's Pov
"So, explain this picture," Imani said as she shoved her phone in my face.
It was the paparazzi picture that was all over my Instagram earlier.
"Oh no, not you too! I thought better of you, Imani," I replied as I pushed her phone out of my face.
I took another bite out of my souffle. Dinner was nearing an end and I was having the best time with my family. We were discussing light topics like Imani's album, fashion, my day tomorrow, and new movies as well as new tv shows.
"I'm not assuming anything, I just asked you to explain it yourself. I'm not gonna listen to the internet's interpretation of this picture, I want yours," She said as she ate her crème brûlée.
"You can't really see it in the photo but I spilled his coffee all over his shirt while I was running away from the paps," I said.
"Didn't really do a good job," Whitney mumbled.
"I can hear you."
"I know," She replied with a smirk. She took a sip of her water before speaking again.
"So you weren't flirting?" She teased.
"No," I responded.
"Are you sure? He is kind of cute and when we looked him up, he's around your age," Blue said.
"He's 18. I'm 17. That's a case. End of discussion," I said.
"I mean your birthday is very soon," Imani finally butted in.
"Can you guys stop. Why are you guys pushing for this dude?" I asked.
"Call it a gut feeling but I see and feel something when you speak about him as if you like him and don't you dare try to deny it," Imani said.
"I barely know the guy. We talked for like two seconds," I replied.
"So? That means absolutely nothing," Sky retorted.
"Something seems different with you. You seem happier like you have butterflies in your stomach and my assumption is it has something to do with him because I haven't gotten this vibe with you since..." Imani trailed off but I knew exactly how she was going to end that sentence.
"Since Anthony right?" I asked and she nodded. "Well when you first met him at least. Your aura and the energy that you're putting out feels exactly the same," she said.
I sighed.
Anthony was a topic I always wanted to avoid and here she goes bringing him back up, completely ruining my entire mood.
"Goodnight everyone," I said as I stood from the table.
"What? Why are you leaving. The nights still young," Mom asked.
"I didn't want to have any deep conversations tonight but here we are starting one so I'd rather not partake in it," I replied as I grabbed my purse. "Plus dinner is basically over and I have a huge show tomorrow, I should get some rest," I continued.
"Okay. Are you good getting back to the hotel by yourself or would you like me to call someone?" Mom asked.
I shook my head. "Nope, I'll be fine but thank you," I replied as I began to walk away. "Be safe!" Mom called out. "I will!" I responded.
I made my way out of the restaurajnt and was immediately bombarded with paparazzi. I felt my body begin to overwhelm. My breathing started to increase and my hands began to shake. I was already not in the best mood and this was making it ten times worse. I walked back inside the restaurant to catch my breath.
