Jaden left and it was just me alone in the studio. I started playing around with some beats and humming freestyled lyrics aloud but none of them were anything I was passionate about so I scrapped them.
I was in the studio for two whole hours trying to create another song for my album but I couldn't come up with anything.
After an hour of jotting down different rhymes that filled my head and throwing them away because I thought they weren't any good, I was left with only one sheet of paper in front of me. The paper was full with words and after going over the song a couple times over, I decided to keep it.
I was playing around with some beats to see what matched the lyrics I had wrote but that was a challenge in it of itself.
I was in the midle of my songwriting process when I heard the door open. I turned around to see my producer walking into the room.
"Hey girlie. What's up," she said when she entered.
"Hey, Erica. Nothing much just trying to write a new song but I'm struggling," I replied. Erica took a seat on the chair next to me.
"Let me help," she insisted as she grabbed the paper with the lyrics on it from the table. I watched Erica nod her head and hum a tune as she read over my lyrics.
"Move over," She said as she reached over to the soundboard and did her magic.
I smiled as I watched her work diligently until my stomach started to growl. "I'm gonna let you work. If you need me, you can find me at the vending machine. I'll be back," I said before leaving the room.
I made my way to the nearest vending machine. I inserted a dollar and twenty-five cents into the machine and ordered a bag of chips.
The chips fell and I grabbed the bag before moving over to the next machine and and inserting another dollar and seventy-five cents into the machine and ordering a pepsi.
I felt a presence from behind me. I grabbed my soda bottle and turned around to be met face to face with Damien.
"I have nothing to say to you," I quickly said before pushing him out the way and walking back toward the studio room.
He grabbed my arm causing me to stop.
"Imani, I'm sorry," He said.
"For what? You have nothing to be sorry for," I replied before pulling my arm away from his grasp.
"I was never your girl, Damien, therefore what you did was justifiable and not cnsidered cheating so I honestly don't care. You didn't hurt me so there really is no reason to apologize," I said.
I looked Damien dead in the eye and spoke. "But I don't want to ever see you again. I don't have anything against you it's just that I really need to rid myself of you because all you do is remind me of a past that I would like to disappear," I continued.
"Imani, please," Damien said.
"Get out of my life, Damien. I mean it this time," I replied before turning around and heading back to my studio room. "I have a hundred million things to worry about and the last thing I need to worry about is you," I continued.
