The next day....

"Imani Carter, Daughter of Beyoncé just released a new song and the internet is going crazy," I read the headline out loud.

I released the song at midnight last night and within hours headlines like this started to trickle out onto internet.

"Babe you have to come out eventually," Jaden said from the other side of the door.

"No, actually I'm good. I have everything I need in here," I responded. "Did you not hear the headline I just read out loud to you. I can't show my face anywhere without at least one person asking me about the song and I don't want to talk about it," I continued.

"Then why did you release it if you didn't want to talk about it. Of course everyone's gonna have questions, what you said in that song is hard to digest, Imani," Jaden replied.

"Shut up," I said. He was right and I hated it when I was wrong. "Go away, Jaden. I want to be left alone to process this predicament that I'm in," I continued.

I heard him walk away. I looked down at my phone once again and scrolled through every single headline talking about the song.

If you haven't noticed already, I completely regret my decision. I've been getting phone calls nonstop, especially from Kacey but I've been ignoring all of them.

I had no idea that this was going to make such a ruckus on the Internet. I thought maybe people were going to download, listen, enjoy, and move on with life but nope, eveyone had questions for me.

I went on YouTube and my recommendation list was filled with reaction videos and news stories discussing the release of my new song.

I closed my phone and sighed. I couldn't go anywhere without someone asking me to address my situation. It was so annoying.

"Babe, you good," I heard Jaden's voice again. "Yeah," I responded.

"Your mom is calling me, what do you want me to do?" He asked.

"Not answer her, duh," I replied.

"Imani, you know your overreacting right," Jaden said.

"I know."

"You know you can't ignore everyone forever," He continued.

"Watch me," I said.

"Imani-," He started before I cut him off. "Jaden, you know your getting really annoying, right," I said.

I shook my head.

I got tired of sitting around in the darkness of the bathroom and hearing Jaden talk so I decided to get up from the floor and finally unlock the door.

"Just give me the phone," I said.

Jaden handed me the phone. I put it to my ear and spoke.

"Hello,"

"Hey mani, you doing okay? Jaden told me," My mom started but I cut her off.

"Don't listen to Jaden," I said as I sent a look Jaden's way. "I'm doing fine," I continued.

"Are you sure, baby?" She asked.

"Yes, I released this song on my own free will so why wouldn't I be okay," I said.
