Ø Thursday 3:30 pm/Tay and Vinn
Tay whips out his cell phone once they know they are off of school property and punches the number one button to call Brenna. Vinn snickers to himself realizing that Tay had waited to use his cell phone.
Brenna answered the phone, “Hello?”
“Hey babe, we got a problem,” said Tay still walking with Vinn to the lookout point.
“Don’t tell me that, what the hell happened now?”
“Well Vinn almost changed, I can at least tell you that much.”
Tay could hear Brenna’s voice change from concern to anger, “What?”
“Vinn got really pissed at Lillian and Parker because they were talking shit about all of us,” Tay said. He explained to her everything that happened. “He’s okay now though, we are on our way to the lookout point.”
“Who is Lillian and Parker? You know what I don’t care tell me later,” said Brenna after she heard Tay’s story. Tay can picture Brenna waving her hand in the air as to dismiss the thought. “Well we have another, possible more problematic problem.” She was noticeably relieved that Vinn had not changed in front of Parker, Mrs. Peterson, and Lillian.
“What happened?” Tay questioned in a serious yet worried tone.
“Don’t get mad at me and Shawna, but Jon got away from us after Vinn and Shawna got off the phone.”
“What happened? Where did he go?” questioned Tay, trying to figure out what “got away” really meant.
“We don’t know. We couldn’t find him; he punched Shawna in the face and knocked her out cold, plus he pushed me out of the way.”
“What’s gotten into him? He’s going to have to answer for that one from just about all of us, and especially Shawna,” Brenna could hear Vinn in the background getting worked up and anxious about what was going on with Shawna since he could only hear one side of the conversation.
“What?”
“Nothing, I am just not going to tell Vinn,” Tay whispered into the phone, “I will leave that for Shawna. We will be there at the lookout point in like five minutes.” Brenna ended the call and Tay put his phone in the pocket of his jeans.
