Corrupted Jewel

Friday- Hallway (section 4.8)

Ø  Friday Cape Central High School-Tiff, Lillian & Parker/hallway

As Tiffani walked out of her last class, she saw Lillian and Parker talking outside of her room. She noticed that when Parker saw her walk out of class, that he had a grin from ear to ear that reached all the way to his eyes.

That can only mean one thing, she thought. She closed the distance between her and her cousins. Once she got into ear range for only them to hear, she said “Lillian, I thought I told you not to tell anyone?”

“Actually, you only said not to tell Eleanor,” smirked Lillian like she just won the Olympics.

“Hey, it’s okay. I promise not to say anything,” smiled Parker as he held up his hands in surrender. “I am just glad that you actually found someone. I knew I saw a connection there somewhere.” He rushed forward and hugged her so tight that she almost collapsed.

Tiffani didn’t say anything so she just smiled and walked with them to her locker. Once she reached her locker, she placed her hand on the combination dial and started to turn it left and right. The locker popped open and out fell a folded up white piece of paper with her name written on the front in hand-written graffiti. The paper hit the floor and Parker bet down to pick it up, looked at it but handed it to Tiffani before he was tempted to open it up. Inside the letter, all it said was:

           Sweet Tiffani,

Meet me two miles away from my house. 6:00pm. I will be waiting

“O. M. G.” screeched Lillian, peeking over Tiff’s shoulder. “Are you going to go?”

“I am thinking about it,” smiled Tiffani. “But I don’t know if I should. Eleanor is too worried about me. What do you guys think?”

“I would,” answered Parker without hesitation.

“Okay, so it’s settled. I will meet him at 6:00.”

Lillian gave Tiffani a huge bear hug and whispered in her ear, “I am so happy for you.” She pulled away from Tiffani as soon as her pocket started to vibrate.

“Hey, El said to meet her at the car,” she proclaimed reading the text message. They all nod, Tiff closed her locker and they all turned to head out the school doors. They saw Eleanor already in the car, waiting for them. The three cousins climbed in and head home.

Parker and Tiff were sitting in the back seat talking amongst each other while Lillian and Eleanor talked about their Physics project that was due the next month.

Parker stopped talking to Tiff and turned to Lillian and Eleanor’s conversation. “Hey, what’s for dinner?”

Eleanor glanced in the rearview mirror to look Parker in the eyes before she could answer. “How about pizza? Tiffani, do you think we have everything at home for you to make dinner tonight?”

Lillian turned around in her seat to look at her cousin. “As I was looking for my midnight snack, I didn’t see any pizza dough or sauce.”

“Ok. I think we also need some more cheese. When we get home, I can head straight to the store to get the things we need,” explained Tiffani.

Eleanor glanced back in the rearview mirror, this time looking at Tiffani before she answered. “Yeah that’s fine. You can take the Corvette.”

Parker shot up out of his seat and turned to Tiffani with excitement in his eyes. “Can I come with you? I need to get a few things for tomorrow night, plus I love riding in the Corvette.”

“Yeah that’s fine but I’m driving.”

It took them ten minutes to get from school to their house with the way Eleanor drives. You would think she was a race car driver. So once they get home, Parker got out of the car and lay down on the ground, kisses the cement and says, “I am so happy to be alive!!!” He does that every time she drives. He seemed to makes a routine out of it when she gets behind the wheel.

All the girls just looked at him and rolled their eyes. The first thing that Eleanor did when she got in the house was head straight for the kitchen table to do her home work. Parker and Tiffani threw their bags on the couch in the living room and Lillian heads for her bedroom.

Tiffani and Parker say goodbye to their family and head out to get into the Corvette.
